Hi Tammie, and thanks for taking the time to send this to us
I watched it a couple of times ... and yes, it is pretty spot on
Today is one of the days when the grief and remembering is front and centre
I have just come home from the ANZAC DAY Service and March at Trinity Beach
And I think of Tanya at Gallipoli and how she felt about it and it just makes me cry ... CLICK HERE
The part about the feelings getting a little fuzzy over time is not true for me,
although I think I understand what she was trying to say
We do learn to live with our grief and sadness because we have no choice
Our lives continue on and we do the best we can but 'Special Days' are hard and always will be

It also helped me to understand a little how you may be handling the grief
I also went to Gallipoli a few years ago and know why Tanya enjoyed it so much
My boys are well and growing fast

Family, Friends, Students and Teachers of Mareeba State Primary School, Air Cadets are warmly invited to A Celebration of Life, for Debbie to be held at the Graveside of the Dimbulah Cemetery, on Saturday 20th May 2017, commencing at 10.30am
In Lieu of Flowers, a donation to the Mareeba Animal Refuge would be appreciated and a donation box will be at the Service
To Celebrate Debbie's Life, mourners are requested to wear something Floral or Bright, or wear a Flower on your Clothes or in your Hair

Hi, Brian and Colleen
I felt moved to write you a note to tell you I am thinking of you
May 11th marks Five Years since Our Beautiful Tanya was so cruelly taken from us
I know too that May marks The First Anniversary of the loss of Your Beautiful Debralee
I know how hard this last year has been for you and I feel for you so much
It is so difficult trying to be strong all the time when all you want to do is crawl into a corner and cry
I hope that both of you, and Debralee’s children, can find some comfort in the memories and love she had for all of you
In my experience it is the anticipation of Anniversary Days that are so difficult
The actual day has always been made more bearable
by the love and kind words of many Family and Friends who care so much for you
I hope this helps you a little

Many Thanks for your beautiful note
It is lovely to hear from people in the same situation as us
The last year has passed with a lot of whys
Deb’s three children have been a blessing to us and, if it was possible, have come closer to us
We still are awaiting the trial
I’m not expecting too much to come out of it, when you hear some of the sentences handed out
Shahnee found the first hearing a little tough ... we couldn’t hear any of the proceedings
We have handled all the Major Holidays with Big Family Reunions
At Easter we all went for a cruise on the Inlet
and for Mother’s Day Shahnee’s partner has organised a barbeque at Dimbulah for all the family and her friends
Unfortunately a lot of her friends will have Mother’s Day commitments that day so there will be about thirty there
They are decorating the house up with her photos, etc
We will do up the Road and Cemetery on the Saturday
It will be a hard day with her Birthday as well but, as they say, Memories are Golden

Wednesday 30th May 2018 ... Julie Abraham and Brian and Colleen Dunigan

Some time ago, I met a lady named Julie Abraham whose Daughter died on Wednesday 29th May 2013
Since then we have met up a few times and keep in regular touch with each other
On Wednesday 30th May this year, I called in to her office to give her a Hug
and also to show her Tanya's Bear which was made for us by a customer at the North Cairns Post Office
Yes, the Bear was made from a pair of Tanya's Jeans !! ... CLICK  HERE

Julie loved it and has since met with Vicki from “Comfort Bears”
and is having a Bear made from Her Daughter Amy's Clothes

Also, it turns out she is the one who left the Roses at Tanya's Ghost Bike ... we hadn't known who left them there

Julie also gave me a Red Rose from a bunch she had received from Amy's friends

Also on Wednesday 30th May, Brian and Colleen Dunigan came into the Post Office with a newspaper for me to read
They are a couple I visited last year in Dimbulah after they had asked me to because their Daughter had been killed in a car crash
Also please see the notes above between Sharon and Brian and Colleen on Saturday 5th May 2018
It was the One Year Anniversary of their Daughter’s Death on Mother's Day this year (2018)
The newspaper article was about one of their Daughter's friends
who had run the “Wheelbarrow Race” all by herself in memory of her friend Deb
It is a touching story and Brian and Colleen thought I would be interested to see the article
because they knew Tanya had done the “Wheelbarrow Race” too during 2011 ... Tanya's Wheelbarrow Race

I was also touched they made the effort to come to Cairns to give me the paper
and a copy of the article is included below

Today was all a bit emotional
Three Mothers who had their Daughters taken from them finding a little comfort from each other

Hi, Geoff and Sharon
I’m not sure if you're friends with Ryan from the Nevern Hotel in London
But he has just shared some news that one of the beloved residents there with Tanya and I had passed away
Bruce and Jenny were an older couple who lived there for two years ... and very much the "Mum and Dad" !!
I know Tanya thought of them fondly and will be welcoming Jenny with open arms in Heaven
Ryan says she passed away after a short illness
I recall well some photos that are on your website, and I’m sure you can locate them much faster than me
They were off Tanya with Bruce and Jenny at the Nevern "One Year Party"
If I’m right it would have been around June 2004 ... Tanya and I had both moved out by this stage but we went along of course
I wondered if you might send a couple though to me so I can pass them onto Ryan who will share them with Bruce
Ryan is also sharing our condolences with Bruce
Hope you guys are all well
I was only thinking of Tanya last week
There are, of course, still days where Tanya is the only right person to call about something or other ... bet you know the feeling !!
Grief really is a strange emotion
There’s no training for it ... I don’t really get the process ... I don’t really know what to do with it
I’m realising moreso that it doesn’t end ... it’s not like a broken heart that you eventually move on from ... it’s forever isn’t it
I say this only because I know you understand what I mean and that hearing this news today,
well it made me think about it, and it’s One Year since My Dad passed away coming up on Monday

What you say about grief is so true ... doesn't pass ... doesn't get better ... doesn't go away
I think of Tanya every single hour of every single day
and somehow I am still able to function which I didn't think I would be able to do
Am always grateful for the wonderful memories I have of her and our lives with her.
Am also the luckiest Mum to have lots of those memories recorded on our website
Reading her Diaries of her time away is like hearing her voice and I love that we have it
As you know time passes so fast ... and it's already one year since you lost your Dad ... how is your Mum doing ??
Love seeing your family pics too ... the girls are gorgeous

I was hoping you'd share Tanya's photos from Salzburg with me !!
I remember her showing them to me and feeling so jealous because I wanted to do the tour so badly !!
I was pretty sure she did the same poses I did but I couldn't remember for sure
Today was a "Special Day" for me
I was so happy I cried ... which made Lachlan laugh a lot ... haha
In tears again now, feeling a little connection with My Lovely Friend
I am so glad she got to see so much of the world in her time but also devastated she didn't get to see more
And also just selfishly missing her
Hope you enjoyed going down Memory Lane too
