Hi Mary
Are you the "Mary" whose story about the loss of her son was documented in Wayne Dyer's book along with a poem titled "I Am" ??
We lost our beautiful daughter Tanya Mary to a drunk driver on Saturday 11th May 2013
It is just coming up to twelve months
It is so hard to keep going and I don't know how to sometimes, but the paragraph in the book and your poem has helped me so much and I wanted you to know
I know too it is not the end of the story
If you are the right "Mary" ... thank you
If you are not I apologise for the intrusion

I am that "Mary" ... and I am thankful that my little poem helped you
It will be twenty years in December since I lost my son
You will never forget
But you will heal and look forward to seeing her again in the wonderful "Forever Land"
Your daughter is fine ... it is you that is in pain

A dramatic example of this presented itself in the following letter and poem I received from Mary Lou Van Atta of Newark, Ohio
She is speaking directly to this idea of false identification as she writes of her ordeal and how she ultimately found a spiritual solution by remembering who she is, rather than who she had falsely believed she was

Dear Dr Dyer
My son was murdered in a robbery attempt two years ago
Frankly, I thought I would never recover from my grief and loss
Amid all the clouds in my life and mind, I was somehow led, once more, to your books and tapes
I had read and listened to many in previous years and while I had enjoyed them, I was too busy to truly listen
Upon going over them again, I realized one underlying truth in all
We are spirit in body – not a body in spirit
I am once more a happy healthy woman with a full steam ahead system
I will always feel my loss of Ross, but I know it is not the end of the story
I can wait
It's okay
I have enclosed a small poem that I hope you will enjoy
I wrote it but you taught it

Indeed, as Patanjali reminds us, we are spirit in body
Believing otherwise is ignorance through false identification
In that state of ignorance we become solutionless in form
When we experience what Saint Paul called a “renewal of the mind” we are able to see ourselves as we truly are

With Mary Lou's permission I include the poem she wrote
It summarizes this first ancient “radical” idea
The central act of ignoranceis not being ill-informed, but in falsely identifying yourself as your form

" I AM "
The “I” that is me – you cannot see
You see only the form that you think is me
This form that you see, will not always be
but the “I” that is me – lives eternally

The next time that you face a problem that you have been unable to resolve, try redefining yourself as Mary Lou suggests in “I AM” and put into practice your true identification as the eternal experiencer rather than the object of that experiencer

The story about Your Dear Tanya really struck a chord with me and I've been thinking about both of you and my own parents and the pain that you are going through and how cruel life can be

Great to hear from you and So Very Nice that you think of us and Our Beautiful Daughter
We go to Trinity and also her Ghost Bike near the city at least twice a week and just "sit / talk" with her
I have made a "Memorial Albumn" for Tanya and the link is below
It is huge, very huge, and has all the details plus there is a link at the top of the page to go to "Tanya's Index Page"
Again it is massive, with every moment captured since she was born !!
It is Geoff writing here and Sharon wants to send her own note when she gets home from work tonight

Getting to Northern Ireland might be a bit of a problem ... I am petrified of aeroplanes !!

This evening I went to Tanya's Holiday Album and read all about her holiday in Ireland
She travelled a lot and had heaps of fun just like you are !!
Enjoy all the wonderful experiences you can and when you get home give your Mum a big hug from me

Val Henderson (Morris), a friend of ours, rang me at 7.15am at work one morning last week
She said she had received a message from Tanya and when she woke up she remembered it and wrote it all down before she forgot it
She said Tanya wanted us to write a Book about her Life and her Passing
She said to give half of the proceeds to a support group and to keep the other half
It is to be released at Tanya’s Plaque at Trinity Beach
She said she saw herself there and people were buying books
Tanya had her hand on my shoulder and she was laughing at my surprise because I could feel her
I looked at Val and we all three laughed
She wasn’t sure if this phrase was a title or a phrase from the book but she said she saw ... "TMR – Through Our Eyes"
She also said I go into the bathroom with the door shut and think about Tanya which I do
When Tanya’s Special Light in there comes on, I close the door, sit on the loo and talk to her and tell her to hug me
That’s it ... crying while I am writing it !!
