during January, Brett was selected as The Helms Award winner for
the 'Most Valuable Player'
APRIL to SEPTEMBER - he then departed for the United
States to join up with The
Portland Sea Dogs (the "AA" affiliate of the
Boston Red Sox) where he was also named as the 'Most Valuable
Player' and competed in the "AA" All Star Game
AUGUST - a Silver Medal as a member of the Australian
Baseball Team competing at The
Athens Olympics
SEPTEMBER
- a
holiday in London, Rome and Paris with his sister Tanya
WEDNESDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER - returned to Cairns for "rest-and-relaxation"
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER - played for Shogun/Heat Baseball
Club in The Cairns Baseball
League, and was presented with an 'Achievement and Support
Award' at the League's Presentation Night
MONDAY 1st NOVEMBER - departed for Venezuela, having
been invited to join The
Leones del Caracas Baseball Club which participated in
The Liga Venezolana
de Béisbol Profesional
MONDAY 29th NOVEMBER - resigned
with The Boston Red Sox for the 2005 season
SATURDAY 25th DECEMBER - arrived in Cairns after the flight from Venezuela
