Email from The Boston Red Sox
after they had received the report and looked at the CD

Brett

We did receive the report and CD's and Dr Busconi has evaluated them.

As you may figure out, it is hard to evaluate a patient and get a good feel on what is old and what is a new injury by just viewing a film and not getting a clinical evaluation.
However, Dr Busconi will e-mail you his thoughts and recommendations today.

He did explain to me that he thought that it would be very beneficial that you have a shoulder specialist in Australia evaluate you and your MRI and then have that physician contact Dr Busconi with his/her findings and then we can discuss a treatment plan.

In order to expediate the process I suggest that you go to the MRI facility and get another copy of the MRI/Arthrogram and bring them with you to the physician visit.

Dr Busconi did feel that you did not have a labrial tear (which is very good news) and he thought that most of your discomfort was from the severe bruising of the humeral head.

He also noticed that you have a partial tear of the rotator cuff but he could not determine if this is a result of your injury or if this is something that you had for a long time.
It is not uncommon for athletes (throwing) to have a partial tear and not even have know it.

So why not get started to look into who you can get to see you and who as a good reputation for shoulder injuries and make sure that you let me know when you set this up as well as all of the contact information for the physician.

I know you are bored now and that you must be going crazy but patience is a virtue and we need to make sure that we get this right the first time or this problem could linger around for a long time.

Talk with you soon.
