'NEW' SEA DOGS
The Red Sox have signed two minor-league free agents,
and they appear ready for a return to Portland.
Jeff Bailey and Brett Roneberg,
both of whom played here in 2001, are now in the Red Sox organization.
Bailey, who turns 25 next week, was traded to the Expos before the 2002 season.
He's played two seasons for Double-A Harrisburg, batting 0.282 in 2002 and 0.246 last season.
He's played first base, outfield and catcher.
Roneberg, 24, also was traded to the Expos, midway through the 2002 season
(he had been on the disabled list for most of the early months of the season).
Roneberg hit 0.294 for Harrisburg in 2002 and 0.281 last season.
He played both first base and the outfield.
