Brett as the first Baseball Olympian from Cairns (and Cameron Cairncross as the first Major League player from Cairns) were invited to throw out the "Ceremonial First Pitch" at the Grand Final between Heat and Reds played on Sunday 8th October 2000

A Perpetual Trophy!!! - the League initiated a new trophy named "Brett Roneberg Shield - First Olympian" - this is to be presented on an annual basis to the "B" Grade Minor Premiers

Dr Lesley Clark is the Member of Parliament for the Barron River Electorate in Cairns (the Electorate in which we live) - she has a monthly newsletter, and in the February 2001 issue, she included an article on Brett in the Olympics along with a family photo which includes a display unit Brett had made up for some of his mementos.

Following the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Brett donated this bat to be used in a Fundraising Auction at Kate and Adam's school - Kate and Adam are Brett's cousins - Auction to be held during May 2001

Brett donated an autographed bat to this Fund for a charity auction that was held during October 2000
