James Meers and Judith Meers (nee ???) James was born in Clare Ireland during 1816 and Judith was born during 1823 The couple arrived in Port Adelaide on 5th
November 1849, and the passenger list states that at this time
James was thirty three years old and Judith was twenty two They travelled on the barque "Constance" and were accompanied by their children Elizabeth who was two years old and John who was one When he emmigrated, John had been working as a shepherd After their arrival, the family first settled at Dry Creek South Australia Judith died on 8th October 1907 at the age of eighty four ... she is buried at Carrieton Cemetery in South Australia A note from Margaret McDonald on Sunday
