Preparations are finished ... the Church is ready !!

The original organ will be centre stage again for one Sunday
and our contemporary music equipment (right) will take a rest

We're pointing towards the organ, but we're not worshiping it !!

.

Would you like to sit in one of the old pews to get into the feel ??

Maybe you'd like to sit in one of these original restored chairs
used at our church before the pews ... they would be at least 132 years old

After the Centenary Celebrations

photos ... videos ... audio ... notes

John and Lesley Richards (nee Coudrey ... Sharon's sister)
along with their daughter Eirona and her two children, Bridget and Samuel, were able to attend

Molly Gore (nee Coudrey) is the daughter of Sharon's father's brother, Stanley

.

Hi Geoff
It was great to have so many generations of the Coudrey family present
I met Lesley and John and their family along with Molly Gore
Ron Thorpe was also present (aged 100) who was assistant organist to Dora Coudrey
There were plenty of other people present that I should have announced, but was unable to get their names
I’ve linked to your website from the article (

Blessings ... David

NOTES ... MEMORIES

from Pastor David Smith

Looks great, Geoff

Thanks for your interest in our church life

David

from Sharon

I loved looking at these pages and all the photos and notes ... how wonderful to be a part of this history

It would have been terrific to be able to go and I would definitely have had a play on the organ !!

Lesley ... so glad you and your family were able to go ... and Molly Gore too

I am looking forward to the videos too ... I want to hear that beautiful organ playing
How amazing it is that Auntie Gertie played it for fourty three years !!

The video of the workings of the organ was fantastic
What a beautiful piece of workmanship, both inside and out

You know if Geoff hadn’t been so persistent in obtaining information on our family history we wouldn’t have known this service was to take place
Thank you to Pastor David Smith and Pat Perry for remembering us and letting us know about the Celebration

Best wishes to everyone ... Sharon

from Wally Knowles

Congratulations on your work concerning the organ

Took me back seventy years when my family and Mollie's family used to meet at Uncle Joe's and Auntie Gertie's for Christmas dinner and a soiree afterwards
I used to pump the organ for Auntie Gertie to play, then I would play something on the piano and Mollie would sing a little tune
Though she was so shy she would only sing if she could stand in the hall outside the room !!

Auntie Gertie was always surprised that I could play a classical tune from memory with no music
She could play well, but needed the music to play from

We always looked forward eagerly to this evening all year
Times were very tough and it was the only time we ever had strawberries and cream

Ah! sweet memories
