Message from Geoff and Sharon
to Louise
Hi Louise
Sharon and I were driving home late today and, as we always do,
slowed down as we passed 'Her Bike' to say hello
We spotted something different and stopped
It was still light enough to take a photo which is with this
message
We are sure this is what you referred to in both your private
message to Sharon and the Facebook post you made yesterday (above)
It is so very, very nice and we stood there, hugged, and cried
a tear or two
We are both so overwhelmed by the love shown to Tanya and the
support and caring given to us
This is beautiful !!
I was starting to get dark, and we did not interfer with the
'Special Bottle' as Sharon is going to stop again around 5.30pm
tomorrow
We noticed that there is a note inside the 'Bottle' ... we do
not want to intrude, but do you mind if we read this ??
Also, is it okay if we post this on Tanya's Facebook Page ??
I hope you can appreciate just how we feel about this ... it
is a gesture of love for "Our Girl" that we will never
forget

I am so glad you saw Tanya's "Message
in a (wine) Bottle" gift
I gave it to her this morning on my way to work, and no doubt
those driving by wondered why a girl was walking along the highway
with a bottle of wine at 7.00am on a Tuesday morning !!
I picked a nice wine with a nice big letter 'T' in the name and
drank it at the weekend then yesterday, I decorated it for her
Hopefully the traffic dirt hasn't stuck to it too much
I would love it if you read the note and shared the photo on
Facebook ... part of me hopes that she is still logging on to
her page and seeing what we have all been up to
Your daughter continues to live on in all those whom she touched
during her life ... that will never change
Reply from Geoff and Sharon
Dear Louise ... your words are so very nice
... Thank You
Tanya's little red "Tina Barina" is here with us
We did not want it sold and then to see it being driven around
by someone else
There are underground carparks here at our complex and it stays
there under a car cover
Every now and again I take it for a drive to keep the battery
charged
It needs a drive now so here is what we are going to do
Sharon and I talked about your beautiful 'Message in a Bottle'
We decided we would like to be together when we open it and read
your note
So I am going to take "Tina" and meet Sharon at "The
Bike" tonight at around 5.15pm
Also, the photos taken last night with her phone/camera are not
very good and I want to take more with our main camera
Some nice shots for both her Memorial Albumn and Facebook Page
... which she does check, I bet !!
I'm pretty sure that 'The Girl' will be sitting on the guardrail
watching us and all this activity !!
Will write again soon ... Geoff

Follow up note from Geoff and
Sharon
We got the "Bottle" and took it
a way off from the busy road and we sat there and read the words
as you 'spoke' to Tanya Mary
We cried a bit and hugged a lot, and it was so wonderful of you
to do this
We put everything back and said "see ya" to The Girl
... was sad but also nice
I took lots of photos and I'll get them organised and put up
over the next day or two
PS - did you really drink that whole bottle yourself ??
Reply from Louise
I am glad you had time to read the bottle
message
I was thinking of you when I was driving home
Tanya and I would meet up at basketball or in town and have wine
together and chats
I always admired her sunny nature and positivity
She had so much time for everyone, even people she had met ten
minutes ago
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree
As for drinking all that wine by myself, of course I didn't ...
Tanya shared it with me !!
I hope "Tina" had a nice trip out too ... I totally
understand why you couldn't part with Tanya's car ... she is
part of 'Your Girl' !!

Tropical and citrus fruits along with attractive herbaceous/varietal
characters on the nose - the palate is generous and fruit driven
with
classical Marlborough acidity giving a fresh, clean palate and
passionfruit
finish with a hint of lime - the palate is well proportioned
with refreshing
tropical flavors that linger on the seductive finish
Distinctly Marlborough from the nose to the herbaceous tropical

a
splash of lemon tang on the palate hitting the mark - good sustaining

Thursday 10th October 2013 ... Gary Jackson
It's odd reading that post about 'The Bottle'
I must admit
I say hello every time I drive past the site
And I also found that during the Ironman,
as I passed the site in both directions,
it gave me motivation
Note from Sharon
Thanks, Gary
I talk to Tanya every day but that is probably
not surprising given I am her Mother !!
I find it not odd but amazing that many people
have told me that they always say 'hi'
when they drive past as well
It is so nice for us to hear these little snippets
A couple of people told us that seeing the bike
and thinking of Tanya gave them
an extra push during the Ironman too
Especially on the way back !!
It is comforting to know these things
Note from Gary
Especially on the way back |
