AC/DC, the greatest rock and roll band on the planet, who have sold over 200 million records worldwide, return home to Australia in February 2010 as part of the Black Ice World Tour

It will be the band’s first Australian tour since January 2001 and will - without any question - be the most spectacular rock show ever staged in this country

AC/DC will blast their way through each of the five major capital cities where they will appear at outdoor stadiums with one of the largest stage productions ever seen
The production will be moved around the country by fourty-eight semi-trailers during February and March 2010

Dates on the Black Ice world tour in the US and Europe have sold out virtually as quickly as they were announced and the performances themselves have left the critics raving:-
----------“AC/DC remain the gold standard for arena spectacle rock’n’roll” ... The Times (UK)
----------“Rock ‘n’ roll that outlasts time” ... Chicago Tribune
----------“It's been way too long since someone tore the roof off the place like this” ... Orange County Register (LA)

The Australian tour comes on the back of the release of the hugely successful Black Ice album
Released on October 20, 2008 on Albert Productions and distributed by Sony Music, Black Ice sold close to 2 million copies globally in the first week of release and debuted at the number one spot in a staggering twenty-nine countries

Black Ice is AC/DC’s first new album in over eight years and it’s evident the band is still an incredible force in rock

Black Ice has been certified Multi Platinum in eighteen countries, including the US, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Italy, Argentina and the Czech Republic
Additionally Black Ice has achieved Platinum status in five countries (including the UK and Spain) and Gold status in four countries (The Netherlands, Poland and Brazil)

With over 6.5 million copies of Black Ice shipped worldwide, combined with over 5.5 million in catalogue sold last year, AC/DC has surpassed The Beatles as the #1 selling catalogue artist in the US for 2008

Don’t miss the rock event of the decade which is heading to Australia in February and March 2010!

Monday 25th May 2009
AC/DC sell out two Brisbane concerts

AC/DC scheduled a second Brisbane show as part of their Black Ice Australian tour after tickets for the first show sold out in record time this morning
Tickets for the first Brisbane show, at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre on February 25, went on sale through Ticketek at 11.00am today and sold out in thirty minutes

Tickets for a second show at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Stadium on February 27 have also now sold out

Promoters said about 500,000 tickets were sold nationally by 4.00pm today, including 96,000 in Brisbane, and sales were continuing
It is the fastest-selling concert tour offered in Australia, the promoters say

Two extra concerts have been added in both Sydney and Melbourne after the first sold within ten minutes
Perth and Brisbane have each sold out a second concert
Fans in Perth bought out the first concert in just seven minutes
The Adelaide concert is also sold out, though a second concert has not yet been scheduled

Benny Dunne, 20, of the suburb of The Gap summed up the feeling of fans when asked why he was queuing for hours in Brisbane to see a band more than twice his age
"Cos they're the best f.....g band around" he said

Many of those who queued, some for more than twenty-four hours, were buying tickets for family - the hard rockers have crossed the generations!

The shows, AC/DC's largest ever, will require fourty-eight semi-trailers to shift sets around the country

AC/DC scalpers reap massive profit on eBay

The mad scramble for AC/DC tickets has continued on the internet, with passionate fans paying scalpers hundreds of dollars for the chance to attend
Two tickets, which this morning sold for $150 each through Ticketmaster, attracted bids of $850 only hours after they went on sale this morning

Tickets to see the legendary Aussie rockers' first Australian show in eight years found their way onto eBay less than two hours after going on sale
Bidding is already well underway, and less than three hours after the first Perth performance went on sale, one scalper had already made nearly $4000 via the auction website

A spokesman for eBay, Daniel Feiler, said it was not the auction site's responsibility to clean up after concert promoters released thousands of tickets onto the market at one time
There were fifty-one AC/DC ticket listings on eBay today, which he said was not a huge amount considering how many stadiums had sold out today
"The re-sale of tickets on eBay is something that does happen, especially when there is this type of event" he said
"Our experience shows that if promoters make sure they get tickets into the hands of genuine fans rather than selling them to scalpers then this issue is significantly reduced"
