Sunday 20th February 2011

Here are the poles after they had been dug out ... and Sharon had smashed the concrete off them as shown on Page Two

****************************************************************************

Saturday 9th April 2011

Nathan Francis has cut one of the poles in half and these sections will be welded to the other two

Nathan is ready to weld

Ritchie Mounsey is checking the mesh that will be added to the "fair ball" side of each pole as shown in the photo at the top of this page

The welding is underway

x

The poles are joined and
three of the mesh supports are in place
could not do the fourth
as Nathan ran out of welding rods

x

The next job is to grind and clean
up each pole and then a coat of
etch-primer will be applied
before the final yellow coat

x

The mesh will also be painted and
attached before the poles are erected
down the line on Diamond One

x

x

As pictured here, these poles are
7.75 metres in length ... 25.50 feet

Around 1.20 metres will be concreted
into the ground, still leaving
more than 6.50 metres in the air
... will look great !!

Saturday 30th April 2011

Lots of old concrete and dirt were on the poles and this had to be removed using a wire brush

Time for some Paint !! ... and these are the products that were used

Geoff starts brushing on the etch primer

Thursday 5th May 2011

Here Ritchie is fitting the side screens to each pole

Friday 6th May 2011

Hanging and ready for the Top Coat

but first the mesh was given two coats of primer ... sprayed on as it's too difficult to brush paint this sort of thing

Starting to spray on the "Golden Yellow" enamel

Almost two litres of paint were used and each pole was given two coats ... with three in some places

FINISHED ... and they look great !!
