After a phenomenal breakfast and numerous coffees sitting in the restaurant surrounded by glass windows looking out at the snow it was time for our first boarding lessons

While waiting for the group to get together a guy came and introduced himself to us
His name was Ben and he was the Chief de Village
He helped me do my boots up properly and told us how "narly" snowboarding is

Anyway we got started with our instructor Yokiyu
The snow board is particularly slidey ... more than I thought it would be and it was really fun !!
Hugh and Trev came down to our lesson and took some pictures for us
The lesson went for about 2.5 hours and it was hard but fun and we went out on to the slopes ... albeit the 'baby' ones !!

We had some lunch ... another great buffet ... and went back out for our lessons
We got told at lunch that it was -15 degrees at the bottom of the gondola, which we hadn’t been up yet ... and I can only imagine how cold it was at the top !!

Anyway, I only lasted one run in the afternoon session
My crazy toes in my right foot went numb and I was in a fair bit of pain
It also happens when I run and am in my joggers so it wasn’t new but was a bit disappointing

I spent a bit of time exploring the resort and went in the Canadian bath which was devine, and the sauna and used the 'onsen' again
There were a few more ladies in the 'onsen' and it was great to see them socialising

There is a theme for dinner and a theme for the dress code each night and this night it was a "Gala Dinner with Elegant Dress"
None of the boys had anything appropriate so they decided to go the complete opposite ... boardies, singlets, thongs and backwards hats
They asked one of the staff for some bow ties from their props room and he obliged
The girls all frocked up ... I knew my high heels would come in handy !!

We met our dates at the bar and had a few drinks before dinner
We walked into the restaurant on our dates' arms and I can imagine it was quite a sight
One of the staff told us later that Ben was very glad that we got into the swing of it

I had noticed the night before that they sold Moet by the glass so I had planned on a glass of the good stuff while dressed up
I went and saw Narnda who was manning the bottle
She said that she would come back to the table and serve me there and asked if I was with the sports team which I thought was pretty funny
Anyway, Hugh and I had a glass and it was yummy

Norio was manning the sashimi stand and I got myself a plate, then another plate, then on my third visit to see him he just laughed and handed me a plate with nine pieces on it instead of the usual three

Green Tea Crème Brulee

The Ravin brought us over a dessert he had experimented with and wanted our verdict
It was green tea crème brulee and it was so good !!
There was also a chocolate fountain with bananas and strawberries and marshmallows ... and that is what most of us finished up with

After dinner it was the nightly show which was called "Lumiere"
The shows each night are put on by staff who also man the bar, restaurant, ski hire room, pool and are ski instructors ... you have to be multi-skilled to work at Club Med !!
Anyway it was a great show hosted by Ben who then had a drink in the bar with us afterwards ... we were starting to wonder when he slept !!

There was a song and dance show then put on in the bar area and Erin and I got dragged up to dance
All the guests knew all the moves and words to all the songs and we felt completely out of place but it was fun
