The Reg Stein Equipment Storage Shed
mower and general storage

=================================

For many years, the League had managed with an aluminium garden shed
and this was an "irresistible attraction" to anyone with a pair of tinsnips !!

For security, this was eventually replaced with a masonary block shed

The shot below was taken on Sunday 7th March 2004
and, unfortunately, this is the best (and only !!) shot in the Photo Library

The shed was dedicated to Reg Stein, the Groundsman for many years
and this photo was taken in 2001 ...... Reg passed away a few years ago

February 2010

!!--more room is needed--!!

The shots below were taken from Sunday 21st February 2010
and show the extensions that are presently underway

There are 31 photos on this page and it may take a few extra seconds to completely download

=============================================

Sunday 21st February 2010

The shed was four metres wide
The "old" side wall can be seen and this was three metres in depth
and the extensions now make the shed ten-and-a-half metres long !!

Eventually the side wall of the shed will be the back wall of the third base dugout
In the photo below you can see that the slab has been started and arrangements have been made for the dugout wall to be cut out

Speaking to Rick Robinson (Builder/Contractor), he feels that as the new dugout roof is going to be concrete,
when it is properly screened and fenced it would be a terrific spectator viewing area !!

Another look ... the walls have been poured and the supports are in place for the new colourbond roof

These two openings are to be fitted with roller doors
The area where the black plastic is will be used for infield or mound repair clays, etc

Finally, a bird's eye view of the new-look 'Reg Stein Equipment Storage Shed'

==============================================================

Thursday 4th March 2010

And the roof is now on !!

A look inside ... and it's huge !!

==============================================================

Saturday 20th March 2010

The fascias have been added ... along with one of the doors

Steel swing doors were decided on instead of the roller doors as mentioned above

==============================================================

Wednesday 24th March 2010

Almost Finished !!

All the doors are now on ... the walls are yet to be sealed and then maybe a coat of paint

No inside shots at the moment ... and why is that ??
Shelving is going to be installed ... but right now all the gear has been just "thrown" in the door !!

On the 21st February above, it was said that the extra area at the front was going to be for diamond repair soils and clays
Thanks to Rick, there was enough bricks, concrete and steel 'found' to turn it into a separate storage area !!

The reinforcing leaning against the wall will be used in the concrete slab roof
going on the dugout once the back wall has been knocked down and the side walls extended

Tuesday 30th March 2010

CrossFit Equipment Shed

What's behind the closed door ??

... well, nothing ...... but keep an eye on the pallets stacked on the side !!

The pallets are being pulled apart to make shelving

As you can see in the shot below, the working conditions are atrocious !!

Shelving going in and it's supported by paving blocks

One side is finished ... and it's wide enough for a ten kilo medicine ball ...

... and now the other side is underway

Finished !! ...... and the kettle balls have been stacked in place ...

... and the two photos below show the rest of the Crossfit gear in it's New Home !!

What is CrossFit ?? ... click on this picture----for the details

==============================================================

Wednesday 7th April 2010

!! The Shed has been Organised !!

Due to the recent rain in Cairns, the walls (both internal and external) have not yet been sealed
This will be done as soon as possible, and is the reason why the tables and shelves are away from the walls

Looks good ... and there is heaps of room !!
