stage along with several of the drawers - this is minimal in
the drawers, but it must be mentioned - the borer has been restricted
to these areas - this dresser has all it's original locks and
handles, apart from the handle on the replaced drawer, but I
may have a handle to suit this drawer - this unit would look
great fully restored! - measures 167cm x 109cm x 37.5cm - April

Old antique kitchen pine cabinet - I have
this old kitchen pine cabinet - the main sections, ie the drawers
and door frames are pine, and the remainder of the cabinet is
plywood - this is a very nice old cabinet with all the hinges
and catches intact - the cabinet has been sanded back roughly
to give it the worn look - there is no glass in the front doors
- it is in need of some repair - one section of the top is missing
it`s bevelled strip of pine but I would assume most hardware
shops would have something similar - so with some new glass or
wire in the front doors and a bit of tidying up, it would be
a really nice old kitchen cabinet - I must to mention that there
are a couple of small holes in the rear of the cabinet because
at one time I had my stereo system in the cabinet and the power
leads were placed through the back - April 2007 Final selling price - $53.00 |

at the top, two drawers, and two cupboards on the bottom - the
two top shelves have a single plate rail to support dinner plates
standing up - the right hand door fastener is missing - the top
of the cupboard has been renovated, andoriginally it would have
just had open shelves, however sides have been added and at this

165cm high, 107cm wide, 44cm deep at the sides - a great opportunity
to renovate this classic piece of Australian history, or you

Auction #24 |
Rustic colonial pine kitchen cupboard - I
have this really nice old cupboard which I think would be from
the 1950's - it has green ripple glass in the front - overall
it is in pretty good shape for it's age - the cupboard has a
couple of minor defects - one side panel of the cupboard's plywood
section is missing and a small section of the top pine section
is missing, but that can be fixed with some pine using the opposite
side as a template - if it was up to me I would replace the side
panel on both sides with some fine mesh or stamped metal - although
the heading is pine, it must be noted that some sections, eg
the flat sections, are made of plywood - this old cupboard would
come up very nice and be perfect for that colonial kitchen!!
- April 2007 Final selling price - $111.00 |
Auction #25 |
Art Deco kitchen dresser with leadlight doors
- this dresser is early 20th century - made in Australia from
Queensland maple - it is in very good condition - the woodwork
is rock solid but shows the usual wear you would expect from
a piece this old - a leadlight specialist has strengthened the
lead in the windows and they are now in excellent shape - some
of the coloured paint (it is the original paint) particularly
the green, is flaking off the windows - I left it as is rather
than messing with it - the metal handles for the top and lower
doors are reproductions and were put on about twelve months ago

and righthand drawers have dividers for cutlery - this is a classic

Vintage cupboard from the 1950's/60's - in
need of renovating but would look great once it was done up -
this vintage white kitchen dresser has one window broken in the
middle - when I bought it I originally planned to buy stained
glass windows to put in it - but I have too many unfinished projects
and I need to clear some space!! - if someone with patience strips
this cupboard back to the wood, replaces the windows with stain
glass or just gets another window cut with the etched pattern
and paints a gold stripe, they will certainly have an original
Australian vintage kitchen dresser to be proud of - the dresser
measures 65.5 inches tall by 58.5 inches wide and a thickness
of 14.5 inches - it still has the original handles on it that
can be removed and the paint stripped off them - May 2007 Final selling price - $122.50 |
