CONGRATULATIONS,
Brett and the Curve!!!
Hey Brett - heard your interview after
the game!!!
Champagne and Celebrations!!!
Sounded like a fantastic, fun time!!!
It was really funny listening to it all!!!
Thanks for the "hello" call.
......and a note from
Brett
Last night was pretty good.
Covered in absolutely everything from food to beer!!
--- and I did last a long time!!
It was a "little-bit-like-but-a-little-bit-more" than
what I expected for just a Playoff berth,
but it was fun none the less.
Little tired
and have a little headache so I am going to go back to bed for
a little while before I have to go to the field.
See ya.
Email from Ed Leipold,
"Founder-Captain" of the "Second Deck Psychos"
- a group of die-hard Curve fans!!!
Well Geoff.
As I'm sure you know, a doubleheader sweep.
The Curve are in the playoffs,
and all is well in Altoona,
and, I'm sure, "Down Under!"
Great night at Blair County Ballpark.
Showed the celebration in the locker room on the scoreboard, along
with some comments from the guys.
Some of them came out and waved and carried on some, like dumping
beer and champagne on JRHouse, who was signing autographs.
Fun evening.
I'm sure the guys are happy with the job they did tonight.
I know the fans are.
We'll be ready for Akron next week.
Have a great one, Geoff.
GO CURVE!!!
......and a reply
to Ed
Hi Ed.
And we heard every minute - every pitch of both of the games!!!
Makes you glad that they didn't clinch when they were in Bowie!!!
Much better to do it in front of all their own fans!!!
And they didn't cut off the broadcast at the end of the game!!!
We heard Rob talking to the coaches and players in the clubhouse.
Heard Brett interviewed, and all the singing and yelling
in the background!!!
Some of the guys were getting razed as they were being interviewed,
and at times it was very funny trying to picture what was going
on over there!!!
(champagne and beer!!!)
It was fantastic to hear it all
Boy it must be great sitting over there in the stands!!!
Enjoy every minute of it, both the remaining regular games AND
THE PLAYOFFS!!!
So hello to all the "Psychos" from Geoff, Sharon and
Tanya sitting here in Cairns,
Anyway, you should be able to hear us!!! - we cheer as loud as
anyone!!!
Email from Tomi Yost
Hi!
I just got home from the game when they clinched the playoff
spot and it was crazy at the game.
Me, Ashley, and our friend Nikki returned home from the game covered
in beer after the players came out of the locker room and started
spraying all the fans.
I have a couple pictures of them celebrating after the game that
I can send to you once i get them scanned even though I ran
out of film before Brett popped his head out of the dugout covered
in Bud Light and champagne.
It would have made a great picture.
Thanks!

Hi Tomi,
and it's nice to hear from you.
Today was a great day, eh???
And we heard every minute of both games,
and the broadcast stayed on-line and we were also able to hear
Rob Egan interviwing the Coaches and Players in the clubhouse.
There was heaps of singing and yelling!!!
Sounded like everyone was having a fantastic time!!!
It was real nice to listen to Brett when he spoke to Rob Egan
- he sounded very happy!!!
I can imagine how wet you three got!!!
I could hear the "champers" in the background and guys
being sprayed as they were being interviewed!!!
Enjoy the rest of the regular season games, and then the Play-Offs!!!
Regards,
Geoff.
Email from Ashley Wertz
Dear Geoff.
I write to you as the smell of Bud light is still fresh on my
clothes.
We clinched a playoff spot!!
I went to the dugout and got sprayed with beer.
A ton of beer.
When my mom picked me up she was like "OH my God"
They interviewed Brett and it was soo great!
He said stuff about us winning and kicking asses.
I think that is what he said.
They even talked about you guys listening to the broadcast on
the internet.
So you were mentioned!!
Oh Brett "barked" at my friends and I.
That was funny!!
It was after we yelled at him for getting a great catch!
My friend were like "Whoa he barked at us"
I thought that was kind of funny.
Well have a great day
Ashley!!!
......and a reply
to Ashley
Hi Ashley,
and the day was great, eh???
And we heard every minute of both games PLUS the broadcast kept
going during all the celebrations!!!
It was fantastic!!!
We heard all of Brett's interview as well!!!
Heard him giving us the "hello call", plus saying they
are going to kick Akron's arse!!!
Heard all the other interviews, along with lots of loud singing,
yelling and celebrating!!!
The players all sounded on top of the world.
I am sure Brett was joking when he "barked" at you
and your friends!!!
Enjoy the rest of the regular season games, and especially the
PLAY-OFFS!!!
Regards,
Geoff.
......another note
from Ashley
Geoff.
I'm so glad you heard the whole thing.
I really couldn't hear Brett because of all the screaming from
his fans.
The Ladies Man!
Sorry it just seemed that way.
Well talk to you later!!!
Ashley.
Email from Sarah Stewart
Hi Geoff and Sharon.
Well, they really did it!!
It was fantastic to be there!!
The fans were going wild - everyone in the ball park was standing
and clapping after the first two outs.
We would have stood all night to see them win......
Till later.
LET'S GO CURVE!!
......and a reply
to Sarah
Many thanks for your note, Sarah.
Yesterday we heard everything!!!
Both games, and then the radio link stayed for all the post game
celebrations!!!
It was fantastic - and very, very funny!!!
Heard all of Brett's interview, and his "hello" call
to us.
It must have been fabulous to be sitting in the Stadium.
I feel that the remaining regular season games should be great
- all the players will be relaxed and using these games to fine
tune themselves ready for the serious business of the Play-Offs!!!
As I said above, it will be great to be at Blair County Ballpark,
but we will enjoy every minute of it on the radio!!!
I have written this before, but I'll say it again. Rob and Jason
do a terrific job describing every pitch and every piece of the
action!!!
Have a great time.
Regards,
Geoff.
Brett.
You know that sometimes when you do important stuff
--- like
your first home run at Trinity Beach,
--- the
second game today, and
--- the
shenanigans in the club house afterwards
that I am doing something equally important - eating!!
I had lunch with some friends today,
and missed your second game including your outfield assist
and the fun afterwards!
However it was great fun reading Dad's updates and all the emails
from the Curve Fans.
Although I was a little disappointed I missed the excitement I
am very very very happy that you are having a good time, that
you are doing so well, that the Curve won - all that would make
up for never hearing a game - and no I am not crying!!
Did you all have a curfew? - I wonder how many sore heads
will be in the line up tomorrow!!
Bye now.
Love,
Mum.
Thanks for the email Mum.
Sorry you missed the interviews as it would have been nice
for you to hear it all.
But I would guess that my sore head will be in the line up!!!
