Home Run Number Four

Thursday 26th June 2003

Road game (First Energy Stadium) against the Reading Phillies

(Hit off the Phillies right-handed pitcher, Willie Glen, in the second innings
and the full box score is at the bottom of this page)

From the Altoona Curve web site
(1) Overshadowed in the loss was the terrific performance by Phils' starter Will Glen.
Glen, making just his second start of the season, allowed only one hit and run -
a 2nd inning solo homer by Roneberg - in six innings of of work.
(2) Trailing 4-2 entering the ninth and facing one of the Phillies' top relievers, left-hander Frank Brooks, the Curve scored twice on Jose Castillo's leadoff solo home run - his fourth of the season - and a Shaun Skrehot RBI double
that plated Brett Roneberg with the tying run.

From the Reading Phillies web site
(1) Phillies starter Willie Glen left after six innings with a 4-1 lead.
He limited the Curve to one hit,
a second-inning leadoff homer by Brett Roneberg.
(2) The Curve scored two runs in the ninth off Brooks, the Phillies' season-long most reliable arm in the pen.
Jose Castillo began the ninth with a leadoff homer to cut the lead to one.
Following
a single by Roneberg and a costly passed ball by Edgar Cruz, Shaun Skrehot's one-out double tied it.
