Roneberg RBI single to right field to give the Curve a 1-0
lead."
(2) "But with Padilla at third base and two outs in the frame,
the most critical error of the night took place.
Nate Espy rolled a grounder to shortstop Castillo, who made a
low throw to first base which got past the first baseman Roneberg
and allowed the games tying run to cross the plate."
(3) "Duffys three hits paced the Curves 11-hit
attack on offense.
Roneberg (2-for-5, RBI) enjoyed the other multi-hit game
for Altoona."
(4) "and 1B Brett Roneberg and 3B Joe Caruso each
contributed an RBI for Altoona."
Email to Brett

Was a quiet day today.
The other first baseman told me today that he is playing tomorrow
which means I am going to either play left or not play.
Hope its left!
Bloody error!
Hit the runner almost on the jersey flap, but still an error.
Shit!

Changed from leftfield to first base in the bottom of the eighth
inning
......and excerpts from the Newspapers and Team web sites
(1) "The Curve and Reading Phils were notched at 1-1 into
the eighth inning until Duffy doubled and then joined Brett
Roneberg in scoring on a Chan Perry two-run single to give
the Curve a 3-2 lead."
(2) "Chris Duffy hit a one-out double in the eighth and Brett
Roneberg was intentionally walked.
After a passed ball moved both runners up, Perry singled to left,
scoring Roneberg, to give the Curve a 3-1 lead"
(3) "Altoona Curve first baseman Chan Perry has seen it all
in his 10 years as a professional baseball player.
So when Phillies manager Greg Legg decided to go by the book and
play the percentages with the game tied in the eighth inning,
Perry was unfazed and totally prepared.
The big right-hander came up with a two-run single to open a two-run
lead that was the springboard to a 7-2 Curve victory Sunday afternoon
before 6,289.
For the second straight game the Curve batters found FirstEnergy
Stadium to their liking, pounding out 11 hits.
But the biggest belonged to Perry.
Here's the eighth-inning setup:-
Runner on second, two out, a 1-1 game, with right-hander Brad
Pautz (1-1) on the mound.
Next up is lefty-hitting Brett Roneberg, another veteran
Eastern Leaguer.
With first base open, Legg opted to walk Roneberg and set
up the righty-righty matchup.
"In that situation you know you're going to get a pitch to
hit," Perry said. "So you have to look for your pitch,
and I got it, a fastball."
Which he lined into left field for a pair of runs, one of which
was set up by a passed ball"
Email from Brett
I played today,
and went 0 for 3 with two walks - one intentional.
The reason for that is I crushed this team last year so he was
being careful.
I hit the ball really hard twice, but ended up with nothing.
Sucks a little, but I am swinging well and I will keep it up!

Erie SeaWolves - road game at Jerry Uht Park
Postponed due to snow
Monday's scheduled game between the Altoona Curve and Erie SeaWolves
in Erie has been postponed due to snow.
Following an early afternoon snow shower that left a coating on
the field, SeaWolves' General Manager John Frey postponed the
series opener between the two Southern Division foes.
The forecast for the Erie area is calling for a total accumulation
of 3-to-6 inches, putting the rest of this week's series in question.
The postponed game has been tentatively rescheduled to become
part of a doubleheader Saturday, July 19 beginning at 6:05 p.m.
Tuesday 8th April 2003
Erie SeaWolves
- road game at Jerry Uht Park
Snowed out again!!!
Continued cold weather and a snow-covered field Tuesday has caused
the second straight postponement of the Altoona Curve-Erie SeaWolves'
series opener in Erie.
With temperatures hovering in the low 30s and wind chills in
the 20s, the coating of snow that blanketed the field Monday at
Uht Park, remained Tuesday.
As a result, the Curve and SeaWolves will not play Tuesday's scheduled
6:35 p.m. game.
Tuesday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday,
April 21.
The Erie forecast calls for temperatures in the 40s and a 60
percent chance of rain Wednesday.
Email from Brett
Well, we got snowed out for the second day in a row.
And it looks likely for tomorrow as well because the temperature
wont get above freezing for the snow to melt.
If it does melt it will be puddles all over the field so we might
have to wait until we get back to Altoona.
