Boxing Day - December 2004

Sharon's "Letter to the Editor"

Here is a map showing the areas affected by the tsunami in Southern Asia
The epicentre of the earthquake has been placed to the west of Sumatra
and some 25 miles below the seabed in the Indian Ocean
Three other quakes - each measuring up to 6.0 on the Richter scale -
then struck to the north of the epicentre
Tidal waves immediately swept out towards
Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia

After listening to some of the news reports, Sharon sent this note to the Cairns Post
and it was published on Thursday 30th December 2004

A note to Sharon

Does it make sense???
Shouldn't it read "was less important"???
Or am I "doing-a-shazza" and missing everything!!!
Bye, bye
......from Sharon
I think you may be right!!
I read it a few times today and didn't pick it up - I knew what I meant!!
Now I feel like a dork!!
Still it appears all the folk who spoke to me about it knew what I meant
and hopefully read it only once and won't think of it again!!
......from Tanya
I think that the "Letter to the Editor" was right
- but I get more confused each time I read it now!
