The Australian Baseball League
Following the Baseball World Cup held in
Taiwan during November 2001, Brett returned to Cairns
For numerous reasons the Australian Baseball season was cancelled
- this was to be held in December 2001 and January 2002
However, the state competition - THE CLAXTON SHIELD - was still going ahead and this was held during early February 2002
Brett was invited to play for Queensland,
but was returning to the United States early to prepare for the
2002 Minor League season
