Trish Nicholls' Visit to Cairns

Tanya's friend Trish Nicholls came to Cairns to score the Commonwealth Games Basketball
All the 'Pre-Final Games' were played in Townsville and Cairns

Tanya had received her Accreditation to be able to score at these Games
This was by her participating / qualifying in a Tournament held in Tamworth during July 2012

When Trish arrived in Cairns she rang me and asked if she and three other scorers, who had met Tanya in Tamworth,
could come and meet up with me for coffee and visit Tanya at Her Bike and Her Plaque

We arranged it for Sunday 8th April and met at Tanya's Plaque ... HERE

Trish brought Tanya some Flowers and we had a lovely visit and a few tears as well

Just as we were leaving Trish pulled something out of a bag ... an Official Commonwealth Games Officials Shirt
I truly "gasped" and said - "Is that for Tanya ??"
She said "Yes" and then the tears started again !!

Tanya would have loved to be scoring the Commonwealth Games
She would have revelled in the atmosphere and been proud of her ability, and to be part of it all !!

Trish also gave me a copy of a Photo Montage that was on the Stats Bench during all the games
I was so touched that Trish thought to do this for Tanya and I know she knew how much it would mean to us

We then went to Tanya's Favourite Trinity Beach Restaurant ... Fratelli on Trinity
and had coffee and did lots of further chatting !!

Because they were heading up to Port Douglas
I asked them if they would like to see Tanya's "Red Wall" at Brett's house ... HERE
and also his Baseball Memorabillia Room ... HERE ... they were  keen so off we went !!
They loved it all, and being sporty people, were also very interested in all Brett's stuff

Trish was thrilled to be there on the wall too in one of Tanya's photos !!

Our visit ended and they headed up to Port Douglas

On their way back they stopped at Tanya's Ghost Bike and left her some Flowers ... HERE
