If you check out Section #08 in the Knowles Family History Index Page, you'll see that it includes Arthur's Marriage Notice or you can see the Notice by clicking ... HERE

This states that he was the sixth son of John and Maria ... whereas you have him listed as their first child

Just want to clarify this before making changes to this web page

Checked again but still the same
These notes are from the records of the South Australian Genealogy and Heraldry Society

They do mention all the births at Watervale and list the right date for Arthur

And the records spell her name Shaddock !!

Reply from Geoff

Well, that seems a major blunder by whoever put the Wedding Notice in the paper ... or the paper made a typo !!

Another Query

Were Ellen Maria and Henrietta twins ?? ... both listed as being born on the 31st July 1864

Reply from Wally

Can't comment ... that's what the records say

And it's very strange ... I've just found out they died almost on same day
Ellen Maria on 31st July 1875 and Henrietta on 30th July 1875 ... and both at Port Wakefield South Australia

Wally wrote ... "Very Strange"

Ellen Maria born 31st July 1864 died 31st July 1875 on her 11th Birthday
Henrietta born 31st July 1864 died 30th July 1875 one day before her 11th Birthday

No, that's not "very strange" ... it needs a few more "Very, Very, Very Strange"

If all these dates are right, Sharon reckons there must have been an accident of some kind during their Eleventh Birthday Celebrations !!

Wonder what the story really is ?? ... maybe some type of childhood disease ??
