to see the Deltones
My evening out started out by meeting Tanya at the Pacific International
Hotel, and her room was a ninth floor Executive Suite!
I helped her get dressed for her night out - she was going to
the Cairns Taipans Basketball "Stary Stary Night" Ball

We had a glass of champagne and admired the gorgeous view from
her room - in three directions!
We then met a few of her friends for drinks at the Cairns Casino
When they were ready to go I went back to the hotel, hopped into
a beautiful bubble bath and read a book for an hour til it was
time for me to leave!
At the Civic Centre, I had a great seat quite close to the front
of the theatre and started to 'people watch'
Good heavens - they were all old!!
All manner of people who didn't look as though the Deltones would
be their 'thing'!
The group? - well, they were awesome - I loved them - I could
have sat through the concert all over again!
They can really sing, and they actually sang four songs without
music and it brought the house down!
Their harmony was really something!
They seemed to be having so much fun themselves too!
"Pee Wee" sang a really low note and told us he stole
it from Kamahl!
He has probably said it a thousand times but it was still funny!
All the oldies, including me, were very appreciative and gave
them a great call back for an encore
They said they were coming back on anyway - but it made them feel
good to be asked back for more!
I had such fun!

Her opinion - SIMPLY FANTASTIC!!
She has since mentioned that there was a Music CD for sale after
the show
I would like to buy her a copy - so she can sing along as she
drives to and from work!!
