Below is an email sent
to the Curve following the game |
Dear Front Office Staff
I just wanted to write
a quick note to let SOMEONE know that both Brett Roneberg and
Dewon Brazelton showed tremendous poise the other night versus
the Bayox at PG County Stadium
I am an Altoona native living in the Bowie area, so my husband
(who is from Huntingdon) and I went to see the Curve
We had great seats right behind the BAYSOX dugout, and it was
a HOT night with a small crowd
Both Brett and Dewon
were harassed the entire evening by several Baysox season ticket
holders
I'm not sure that Dewon was able to hear the comments, but Brett
certainly was
For such a young man, he was much more even tempered about the
whole thing than the four middle-aged Curve fans were
The Baysox fans made fun of Brett's accent, home country, culture,
etc
It was embarrassing to see members of our own DC area community
behaving in such a ridiculous and insulting manner
It was far worse that small children in attendance had to see
adults behaving so poorly
Please thank both Brett
and Dewon, on behalf of the Curve fans in attendance, for being
excellent role models for young baseball fans who came out on
a hot night to see a Curve win
They made up proud to say that we are from Altoona
Sincerely
Michelle and Bob Mowchan
