"Beverly"

What type of Pedigree??

(#01) Some of the dolls have 'PEDIGREE' written/stamped on the back,
along with 'Made in England', as shown here

(#02) Others have 'Made in England' stamped on the back
......and Sharon's Beverly is one of these
We cannot check the back of her head because the hair is glued on

(#03) And others, from the descriptions below, have no markings

(#04) Some are described as having '20T" marked on their voice box
......and Sharon's Beverly is one of these

(#05) On some of the dolls the knees bend - others have straight legs
......and Sharon's Beverly has the straight legs

(#06)
I found this note on an internet site - "If she has no markings on her back or neck,
she is probably an Austalian Pedigree Doll - if she is in good working order she should, walk
and turn her head when you move her arms - she also crys when you lay her down, has sleeping eyes
and I could go on and on!! - she is from the 1950's
The writer appears to know what she is talking about, but I am not sure how accurate this
explanation is and also, if this is correct, which is the more collectable
The English or Australian doll?? ...... Bending legs?? ...... Straight legs??

Sharon will keep checking
but it doesn't really matter about the collectability or value
It is from her childhood, and she will never sell it!!

Auction #02
Vintage 1950's hard plastic twenty-one inch Pedigree type doll with working 'mama' - we are reluctantly selling today one of our lovely dolls from our collection - she comes to you with her special brown teddy bear to keep her company on her long journey to her new home - she has no markings on her, but she has all the characteristics of a Pedigree doll - she is made of hard plastic and is a walker doll - she has a 'mama box' in her back which is marked 20T and she cries loud and strong when tilted back and forth - she has lovely blue flirty eyes which open and close well - she has a red mouth (may have been touched up in the past) with two front teeth and tongue - her head moves from side to side with the walking action of her legs - she has original full eyelashes(beautiful) on both eyes - she has added eyebrows to make her look as she once would have looked - she has her original blonde curly wig and this is very full and shiny and soft to touch - she comes to you in a vintage homemade printed dress with matching panties and a white half slip made from broderie anglaise - her matching pink sandals are very unusual and look lovely on her and they are made by Cinderella and are a size three - she is a lovely doll who has been well looked after in her past life - in respect to condition (1) she has a small hairline crack above one of her legs and is approx 1.00cm long (2) we can see a very minor hairline crack on her nose and (3) one each side of her eyes, but the ones by her eyes can only be picked up with a magnifying glass, and do not detract from her at all (4) she has a small dark patch under her thumb which is in the seam of her palm and it appears to be a very old mark - all these things are all very minor but we like to let buyers know about the dolls and don't like people to get a surprise upon opening the box - she has a lovely all over colour on her body - this is a truly beautiful doll who will be sadly missed, but is ready to go to her new home

Here is a 1950's walking doll - I can see no markings on her, but there is a possibly it is marked under her wig I do know Pedigree made a walking doll of this type so maybe she could be a Pedigree - if anyone can tell me who she is I would be most grateful - as you walk this doll her head and eyes move from side to side - she looks like she may have made crying noises or talk as there is some sort of box showing on her back - her eyes open and close and move from side to side but her eyelids are a bit rusty - overall she is in not bad condition for her age

Auction #12
A great 1950’s English Pedigree doll in good condition - the clothes could do with a wash and the doll could do with a clean - the eyes close and move sideways - the voice box doesn’t seem to work but as it's been in storage for many years it may be that is has some rust and just need a good clean - marked to the head Pedigree and on the body is Made in England 20T - she stands 22 inches (56cm) high - the following are answers to questions from some of the bidders - (1) the eyes look to be glass, the hair real and the body is from hard plastic - (2) the body is in very good condition and is just needing a clean - (3) there are no cracks or broken pieces on her face or body, and there is no signs of any deterioration to the plastic, but it does need cleaning, and as we are not experts we thought it best to leave it to someone that knows what they are doing and this doll has been in storage for many years - (4) the shoes have the moulded Pedigree mark to the sole, but the pearls are unmarked, and there does not seem to be any labels or tags on the dress, but it's very dirty and has a small hole on the side of the dress, and there are eighteen holes in the sound box
The final selling price was $340.00
Auction #13
Vintage 1950's hard plastic twenty-one inch Pedigree type doll - marked Made in England on her back - and she is gorgeous!! - we believe her to be an unmarked Pedigree doll, as many of these dolls were marked in this way during the 1950's to be sold in department stores - she retains her original peachy skin colour all over her body, and gorgeous original blush to her cheeks - she has the original eyelashes on one eye and 90% original on the other eye and rest has been replaced, but it's hard to see which is which!! - she has blue flirty eyes which open and shut well - this doll has a working 'mama' with the marking 20T on her mama grille, and this cries loud and strong when she is tilted back and forth - her walking action is smooth and her head turns when her legs move - she has a brand new wig which can be restyled in many different ways, but at the moment it is in the pigtail style with three gorgeous ringlets - she does retain her original sparse blonde wig underneath the new wig - notes on the condition (1) she has one small filled seam separation on the side of her neck, but this cannot be seen with her new wig (2) she has one hairline going down from one eye which again is quite common for these dolls (3) there is also has a small crack above one leg joint - however, these minor things do not detract from her at all - the doll is a real beauty and will be sadly missed - she comes dressed to you in one of "Dollysisters" creations in a gorgeous sheer pink fabric with gold and white dots over it, and this consists of a bonnet, dress and matching panties - the dress is lined with pink organza material, and has delicate pink satin rosebuds on the bodice with white insertion lace - there is also a beautiful matching bonnet to complete the ensemble - she is wearing brand new white edge lace socks and new Mary Jane pink shoes - she is waiting to go to her new home, so don't miss out on owning this gorgeous doll - note that this auction has a reserve price
The final selling price was $263.45
Auction #14
Pedigree Doll made in the1950's - she stands twenty-two inches high and she is wearing her original dress with the Pedigree lable still inside!! - and she also wears what I believe are her original Cinderella shoes!! - her fingers and toes are complete - the eyelashes are complete and are in a triangle shape, and the eyes work perfectly and flirt from side to side as she walks - her walking mechanism works perfectly - her hair is in bows which seem to be original (they were in her hair twenty-five years ago when I bought her) - she has a mama box which is still in perfect working order - she has no smells - this doll is marked Made in England on her neck and back - notes on condition (1) she has a crack at the top of her left leg from where I recently dropped her (2) there is also a small crack on the top of the right leg from the fall (3) I can see two very slight hairlines on her face, one above each eye (4) she has several very slight marks on her body - overall for her age she is in very nice condition and is a lovely old doll that displays well
The final selling price was $59.40
