"Antique Carriage Clock with Alarm"

A note from Geoff on Friday 18th August 2006

This clock was listed on Ebay and the details are below

Very similar to Sharon's

and it is also of German make

From the auction description, the alarm/music box is missing
and I would guess this will effect the final selling price

Antique Carriage Clock with Alarm
By Urenfabrik Muehlheim Mueller
Enjoy the old world elegance of this excellent clock
This delightful alarm clock is most likely by Muelheim Mueller and Co
and dating from the late 1920's
The nickel plated case is in excellent condition,
considering it was made about seventy years ago with no major dents and little scratching
There is some wear to the top plate (see picture)
The front of panel is brass with interesting pressings and the glass is in perfect condition
The paper dial is in great condition
It has darkened somewhat over the years but has little scuffing (see pictures)
The time and second hands appear original and are in good condition
The alarm would have been a music box located under the base of the clock
but is unfortunately missing as is the alarm spring
The alarm train however is complete so restoration is reasonably simple
The thirty-hour movement keeps good time and runs for over two days
The clock is wound and adjusted from the rear of the clock
The clock is 15cm x 14cm x 10cm

Item location - Perth, Western Australia Australia
This auction ended on Sunday 20th August 2006
The starting price was set at $30.00 and there were ten bids during the auction
