Game #055 - Saturday 3rd June - v New Hampshire Fisher Cats

Double Header - Game One

Friday's game postponed - doubleheader scheduled for Saturday

Friday night's game between the the Altoona Curve and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats
at Blair County Ballpark was postponed due to heavy rain
and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday

The first game of the twinbill will be a seven-inning contest beginning at 6.05pm,
with the second game starting approximately a half hour after its conclusion

The Curve will send Mike Connolly (5-3) to the mound in game one
against New Hampshire's Kurt Isenberg (1-6)
In the night cap, Chris Rojas (0-0) will start for Altoona
against Fisher Cat southpaw Davis Romero (5-4)

Fans holding tickets to Friday’s game can exchange their rain checks for tickets
of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2006 Altoona Curve regular season home game,
based upon availability

One of the most recognizable television stars will be at Blair County Ballpark when
Barry Williams (“Greg Brady”)
continues the Curve’s Retro Celebrity Series on Saturday night
Williams will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch
and signing autographs on the concourse

Along with celebrating Brady Bunch Night,
the Curve will be handing out free Altoona Curve Logo Baseballs
to the first 2,000 fans in attendance presented by General Mills and Giant Eagle

(#01) As Brett came in for his first at-bat, the commentator said - "Brett's batting average before tonight's game is 317 and that is third best in the Eastern League"

(#02) Brett picked a walk in his first at-bat, and the commentator mentioned - "Brett has a good hitters-eye to pick a walk off Kurt Isenberg as he has only given up ten free passes in over fifty innings pitched in his eleven starts so far this season"

(#03) After Brett's fourth at-bat, the commentator said - "That was a great at-bat by Brett ...... he was able to come back from an '0-2' count and get the walk and become the potential winning run here in the bottom of the seventh and final innings" - but Brett was left stranded at third base at the end of the innings!!! - and the Fisher Cats went on to win the game in the next innings!!!
