Cicely Mary Barker "Flower Fairy" Spice Jars
Attachment - Backstamp Photo

Hello, and I am writing to ask for your assistance
We have recently purchased this terrific set of Spice Jars !!
30 of them !!
And we love the look of them in our kitchen !!
I am trying to find out a bit of information about the set
I was told that your company manufactured and/or distributed them when they were first released
and that was back in 1989 according to the photo which is attached
Are you able to send me some brief information and details on these Spice Jars ??
I would really appreciate any help you can give me
Thank you ... Geoff

Dear Mr Roneberg
There were thirty jars originally in this set
Each one was GBP£15.45 - AUD$36.16
I cannot tell you much more than that

NOTE
$36.16 each - and we have the full set of thirty jars !!
$36.16 x 30 = $1084.80 - plus the shelf display !!
Not bad for an outlay of just $30.00 !!

Dear Geoff
Thank you for your e-mail regarding "The Flower Fairy Spice Jars" you have purchased
And we are very pleased to note that you like them a lot!
Cicely Mary Barker, was the artist of the "Flower Fairies",
where millions of books have been sold around the world
From her images, together with Villeroy & Boch (Heinrich Porzellan) a German manufacturer,
we have produced collector's plates, which have been sold mainly in Europe as well as the USA
Also, with an English/American direct mail company called Danbury Mint,
we manufactured collector's plates and from there we did also collectible figurines
with Border Fine Arts, and then as well as the Spice Jars ourselves
Cicely Mary Barker's images are still today a big property in licensing, doing jewellery,
stationery, greeting cards, gifts, books etc
I am sure if you search in the "www - internet" you will find quite some information
about the artist and her work
We hope that this information will help you and that you will enjoy your spice jars for a long time
Best regards to lovely Australia

... and a note from The Copyrights Group ...

Dear Geoff
Many thanks for your email regarding "Flower Fairies" spice jars
Unfortunately I am unable to assist with any further information
as 1989 predates my company's invovlement with the Flower Fairies
And it is also before Frederick Warne became the publisher
The only thing I can suggest is researching on the internet
If the manufacturer of the jars is known that would be your best starting point
- I didn't see the manufacturer's name on the backstamp,
but perhaps it is elsewhere on the items you have
Again, thanks for your interest in the "Flower Fairies" and good luck with your research
Best wishes
