Heard during the
game
(1) As Brett came
in for his first at-bat, the commentator mentioned that "Brett
has reached base safely at least once in every game he has played
(eleven games) and he is the only Sea Dogs batter to do so"
NOTE - as he did not get a hit today, Brett's "on-base-streak"
ends at eleven games
(2) During his first at-bat
he also mentioned that "Brett is struggling at the moment"
and made the following comments:-
--------"He went 2-for-11 in the series
against the Mets"
--------"And he was just 3-for-13 in the
last series against the Thunder, without an extra base hit"
--------"Roneberg is batting 131 ponts
higher against righties than he is against lefties"

As for the baseball,
I feel great at the plate.
And right now I am not getting anything from that at all.
But I know that I wont change anything
and hopefully I will be back in there today and do some damage.
Hope it's a good one to listen to.
Also, I crushed that line drive in the first inning yesterday
--- resulted in just an 'out'!!!!
Game Reports
BAYSOX NINTH INNING COMEBACK
CAPPED BY ROGERS BUNT SINGLE IN 3-2 WIN OVER PORTLAND
Ed Rogers capped a ninth-inning Bowie comeback with a two-out,
game-ending bunt single, scoring Kris Wilken and giving the Baysox
a 3-2 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs at Prince Georges
Stadium on Friday night.
With the Sea Dogs ahead, 2-1, Portland reliever Joe Nelson walked
the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning.
After a Gary Cates ground out scored Octavio Martinez to tie the
game, Rogers laid a perfect bunt down the third base line, which
John Hattig was unable to bare hand, capping the Baysox comeback
win.
Nelson (2-1) suffered the loss for the Sea Dogs.
Portland (4-9) scored two runs in the top of the sixth to take
a 2-1 advantage against Baysox reliever Thomas Jacquez, who entered
in relief of starter Daniel Cabrera to start the frame.
The runs came courtesy of Jeff Bailey and Kenny Perez RBI singles.
The Baysox (7-7) scored the games first run in the bottom of the
fourth on a solo homer by Walter Young against Portland starter
Chris Smith, who allowed only three hits and one run in five innings.
Cabrera was even more impressive for Bowie, tossing five shutout
innings, on four hits, a walk and seven strikeouts.
Javier Martinez (1-0) worked the final two innings, allowing only
one hit to earn the victory.
NOTES
Cabrera twice reached 99 mph on the in-stadium radar gun.
There was a 1:40 rain delay to start the game.
DOGS LOSE HEARTBREAKER IN BOWIE
Two 9th Inning Runs Sends Portland to 3-2 Defeat
Ed Rogers' bunt single in the bottom of the ninth inning plated
Kris Wilken and lifted the Bowie Baysox to a 3-2 come-from-behind
win over the Portland Sea Dogs.
Bowie started the ninth inning by drawing two walks by Wilken
and Walter Young off Sea Dog closer Joe Nelson (2-1).
Following a foul out on a bunt attempt, Woody Cliffords drew the
Baysox third walk of the inning.
Gary Cates ground out to third plated the game tying run and Rogers
followed with the winning bunt giving Bowie its second straight
win.
It was the fifth time in 13 games the Sea Dogs bullpen failed
to hold a lead in the final three innings of a game.
Portland's runs scored in the sixth inning on RBI singles from
Jeff Bailey and Kenny Perez.
Chris Smith allowed only three hits and a run in five innings,
but did not earn a decision.
