The Eastland Park Hotel has been a Portland landmark since its
grand opening on June 15th, 1927, just one day after Charles Lindburgh
flew solo across the Atlantic.
Flying over Portland's State Pier, radio personality Graham McNamee
and Governor Ralph O. Brewster dropped the keys to the hotel's
front door into Portland's harbor, signifying that the Eastland
would never close.

Adeline's Grille
Take a step back in history
Portlands Grand Dame hotel, The Eastland Park, has announced
that on April 16, it opened Adelines Grille, named for Ms.
Adeline Rines.
Mrs. Rines was the wife of the original developer of The Eastland
Park Hotel
Mr and Mrs Rines travelled the world and these travels influenced
the various design schemes present throughout the hotel when it
was originally built in 1927.
Adeline Rines was also the first woman admitted to the Bar Association
in Cumberland County, Maine.
Adelines Grille features a warm and casual, friendly décor,
which captures the historic roots of the hotel.
The historic concept includes actual reproductions of newspaper
articles featuring the hotel, old photography as well as blown
up postcards of the property during the last 75 years.
The menu is designed around "upscale pub food" and will
feature a Chowder of the day, and local seasonal offerings.
The same menu is available for lunch and dinner, as well as room
service to cater to the Eastland Parks hotel guests.
