I would like to thank all the athletes who have responded to our earlier correspondence about the Australia Post initiative that is being conducted to acknowledge and reward selection in the Australian Olympic Team.

The feedback from athletes has been extremely positive.

Australian Olympic Team Selection
Thanks to Australia Post, every athlete selected in the Australian Olympic Team for Athens will receive a Special Commemorative Personalised Stamp Sheet celebrating their achievement.

Each athlete's Personalised Stamp Sheet will contain a personal message from the AOC acknowledging his or her selection in the team.
The athlete's name will be printed on the sheet,
and the athlete's image will be featured on the tabs of 10 x 50c Australian postage stamps.

(the athlete's images will be sourced from the images taken by Sport The Library at Team Processing in 2003)

This Australian Olympic Team Personalised Stamp is intended as a special collectible for each athlete's personal use and benefit only.
This is not a commercial program - no copies will be made available for commercial sale.

The goal of the AOC and Australia Post is to provide these Personalised Stamps to each athlete and/or their family following their selection being confirmed by the AOC, and prior to the commencement of the Olympic Games on 13 August 2004.

Should you be selected in the Team and agree to participate, the AOC and Australia Post would also like to coordinate a presentation to you and/or your family in your home town at this time.

Javelin Australia is coordinating these individual athlete presentations on behalf of the AOC and Australia Post.
As you are under no obligation to take part in a presentation, the AOC needs your approval to authorise Javelin Australia to contact you directly in relation to the presentation if you are selected in the Team.
I would ask that you provide your response by Friday 20 February.

Should you be away from home at the time your announcement in the Australian Olympic Team, a presentation can be arranged directly with your family members.

If you are unable to participate in a presentation then the AOC will simply mail your Personalised Stamp sheet to you.
