Altoona Curve | 52 | 37 | 0.584 | 5.5 |
"Akron, they're a great team, they've
got a lot of pitching and some good hitters," The Curve's
Brett Roneberg said.
"We've been giving them a run the whole time.
It just seems like every time we lose, they lose, every time they
win we win type of thing."
Roneberg noted, "it's always nice to get in first place," but he understands better than anyone on this year's club that finishing second in the regular season doesn't necessarily hurt the Playoff hopes.
Roneberg played for Harrisburg a year ago,
and the Senators finished second to the Aeros in the regular season.
Akron won the first two games of the Divisional Playoffs before
Harrisburg rallied for three straight victories to win the series.
"That was awesome," Roneberg said.
"We went in there and lost the first two games against them,
and they just blew us out of the park.
It was unvelievable.
We came back and won three in a row and were on the top of the
world."
