It’s been a long time since I’ve been on my bike, but you are always in my thoughts when I drive along the highway
It’s that time of year again so please keep a protective 'angel-eye-out' from above
for all those crazy triathletes who are out on the roads training hard for Ironman next month

In Memory of Tanya Roneberg
If my calculations are correct, Tanya Mary Roneberg lived 13,700 days
And since her death four years ago it is tremendously evident that she lived a life of great significance to all those who knew her
She enriched and empowered the lives of many and remarkably she continues to do so
Her life has inspired so many people to do things, and to go places they never would have dreamt of
Her spirit has motivated others to climb the pyramid, run the stairs, lift weights, workout
And embark on various challenges like the Iron Man and the Cardiac Challenges, Bungy Jump, travel to the Greek Islands
(leaving out the donkey trail of course !!)
She continues to inspire others to live a life with passion and brought about various Road Safety Campaigns and so much more
She has brought people together in grief and in celebration of a life well lived
A life that truly mattered
Here is a poem I came across which I would like to dedicate to Tanya
Although never having met Tanya,
I get to know a little more about her each time I hear her mum share the wonderful stories of places she visited,
activities she participated in, and even the things she cooked
This is for you Tanya ... ...
“Live A Life That Matters”
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived
At the end, whether you were beautiful or brilliant, male or female
Even your skin colour won't matter
So, what will matter ??
How will the value of your days be measured ??
What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built
Not what you got, but what you gave
What will matter is not your success, but your significance
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others
What will matter is not your competence, but your character
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice
Choose to live a life that matters
As quoted: “in the end, it’s not the years in your life that counts, it’s the life in your years”
Thank you, Tanya, for all that you gave and all that you taught
For your enthusiasm, and inspiring example of how to live a life with passion and endless possibilities, with strength and vitality
To your mum who is absolutely the best
Her courage and strength are nothing short of amazing and inspiring and to your dad and brother Brett
I also commend them for the way they have supported each other and the humour your dad shares with us and his conversations with you
I am so in awe of them
My heart goes out you Sharon, Geoff and Brett as you reach the Fourth Anniversary of Tanys’s passing
