x One thing I had really wanted to do after reading about it on the Club Med website was the snow trekking with snow shoes (ie tennis rackets) and ski poles ... and Errol and I decided to do it after lunch today Stefan took us on the trek ... we were the only two takers so it was like we were on a private tour ... and it lasted about ninety minutes And, by the way, Stefan was also in charge of lighting at the nightly shows The trekking is one of my favourite things we did It was a beautiful afternoon and the snow was deep Our shoes werent quite tennis rackets but were very handy Difficult to go backwards in as Errol found out when falling over !! ... and it was hard for him to get up too as when he was trying to use his poles to get himself up they went so far down into the snow they werent very helpful at all !! A few times we had to stop because of some massive wind gusts blowing snow into us but it wasnt much Stefan took us to a waterfall and it was frozen solid and very beautiful We followed a windy creek bed and at times I bet we were over the frozen creek but the snow was so deep we wouldnt have been able to fall through It was quite surreal to be bush walking in the fresh snow without another person in sight I loved it !! x |
