On Tuesday 2 February 2010 a blonde girl and
a very tall boy got taken to the airport by her daddy
They were off to Tokyo
What fun!
(but no more fairytale writing!!)
Ready for take off

I had packed enough food to feed an army for
the 7.5 hour flight as we were flying Jetstar who dont
feed you
I had packs of tuna and crackers, packs of cheese and crackers,
muesli bars and lollies ... we were set.
It was very hot at home and it was going to be very cold when
we landed so we had big jumpers and beanies in our hand luggage
for the journey to the hotel
7.5 hours later we landed in Tokyo and collected our bags
I had my backpack from my time in Europe which kept two hands
free for maps and paying for tickets and things like that
We brought our ticket for the Skyliner which took us from the
airport to Ueno station, part of the Tokyo Metro system
We transferred to the metro train which took us to the station
nearest the hotel
As scary as the metro map looked (see
here) I found it very easy to get around
So did Errol, cause he just had to follow me!
We were the last of our group to arrive ... Hugh, Erin, Trevor,
Michelle had been in Tokyo for a few days already so once we
arrived at the hotel at about 10.30pm we were set
The Hotel Asia Centre was great (see
here)
It had a good location and a fridge with free water and as many
as you wanted to grab of Lady Kits (which I grabbed for the crossfit
girls) and shave kits and toothpaste and toothbrushes and hair
brushes too
We dumped our bags and headed to Roppongi to meet the others
They picked us up and took us to a bar called "Mowtown"

They had made some Japanese friends so there
was a large group of us
The drinks were expensive ... everything in the bar was 900 yen
(AUD$11.25) but they played heaps of fun old music and even played
Downunder for us ... I dont know if it was
requested by one of us but we all sang it at the top of our voices
There was lots going on and a number of transvestites in the
bar ... some of them were very hard to pic
The only thing I didnt like about the bar was that smoking
is allowed in the bars
It has been age since I have been anywhere like that and I had
forgotten how awful my hair and clothes smelled after a night
out in a bar like that !!
Oh, and speaking of smelly clothes, Errol managed to spill a
whole beer all over me (it's not the first time) and I only had
one pair of jeans doh!
That was the end of my night ... off to the hotel to wash and
dry them before morning
I got no sleep because it was about 2.00am when we got back to
the hotel then I went to sleep and set my alarm to get up and
put them in the dryer ... so yes I was tired and cranky !!
