Here we have for auction a beautiful lidded flow blue tureen made by Doulton Burslem in the Laburnum pattern - the Registry Number is 330852 which says the piece was made in 1898 - the tureen measures eleven inches long and five inches high - there are several really small chips to the rim and a small chip to the underside of the lid - these are not bad and do not take away from the beauty of the piece
Listed with a starting price of $103.00 - no bids

I purchased this rare tureen from a Scarsdale, NY estate sale - it is a Doulton Burslem handled tureen in the Arundel pattern - overall it is in excellent condition, though there is some roughness and a half-inche hairline crack on the rim of the tureen - the cover also has a small chip on the inside but this doesn't show unless turned over - the ladle has no flaws and is in great shape - there is no crazing or discoloration - I am very critical when I examine any object and I am sure you won't be disappointed in this elegant tureen - it measures approximately 7.5" x 9" without the handles and the ladle is about 11.5" long - the pattern is brown on creamy white
Sold for $114.00

#14
This auction is for a covered casserole or lidded tureen - it is decorated with yellow and orange flowers which I am just guessing are chrysanthemums - the lid and tureen handles are trimmed in gold - this measures 11.25" long between handles and 7.25" across - the base is 2.5" deep and it is 5.25" high to the top of the handle on the lid - the base has early red mark which I believe dates to about 1910 and it is marked Doulton Burslem F. Lassetter Limited Sydney with an A and red crown - the tureen is in vintage condition - I see no cracks or chips - there is surface wear consistent with use as piece is nearly 100 years old and the rim and handles have wear to gold trim
Sold for $14.50

Doulton Burslem gravy tureen with ladle - this is a rare, rare item - Doulton's Oceana is considered the 'holy grail' by those who collect and appreciate transferware from the Aesthetic Movement - finding an intact ensemble of tureen, ladle and underplate is very likely a once in a lifetime experience - the tureen measures 7.5" by 4" by nearly 5" tall and the ladle is 7.25" long and the underplate is 7.5" by 5.5" - with the ladle, I wonder how many of these even exist and I'm sure there are very, very few (if any) that have survived in this condition as there are no chips and just some crazing, light browning on a small area and a fine, tight and tiny line, which you'd expect after one-hundred-and-thirty years, and it is really excellent! - the underplate has no chips or cracks either, but there is some very light stains but nothing serious or objectionable - the cover is extra fine with no chips, cracks or dings, and as with most early eathenware of this era, the lid has a very slight wobble but this is neither unusual nor detracting - with the dish, there is very light browning inside - I know most collectors, even the most advanced, have never seen a piece like this - except for the ladle, each piece carries the unique mark used on Doulton's Oceana pattern, 1886-87 - these are amazingly well preserved pieces!! - this is a very important piece of transfer ware!! - I absolutely guarantee you're going to be thrilled, so have a great time bidding!!
Sold for $1,120.40

Doulton Burslem Elaine gravy or sauce tureen with ladle and underplate - this is one of those auctions that is for the Hard Core Collector, or that clever home decorator that would know just the right spot for this amazing Green Transferware piece which dates to the 1880's, or that clever hostess that works it into her table or buffet serving!! - amazingly, this four piece set is in wonderful condition - first the tureen which is oval shaped and measures 6.75" by 5.125" and from open handle to open handle the tureen is 7.75" long, and without the underplate, the tureen is almost 3" high and is about 5" high with the lid in place - the tureen is in wonderful condition, and I can feel only one or two fleasize nips to the rim and no cracks, and no crazing, but there are some light surface utensil marks, and inside are a few pop marks from firing, and one dot of discoloration - the lid is 7.125" long and 5.5" wide, and with no chips, no crazing, no cracks, and no damage to the ladle hole - it is just incredible for the age - the underplate is 8.25" by 6.25" and in the same wonderful condition, but there are some light utensil marks - the ladle handle is about 5.25" long with the bowl about 3" in diameter, and the only crazing on these four pieces is on this ladle, but there are no cracks, chips, hairlines - ooopps, I just felt a tiny nick on the end of the handle!! - I did not see it, but felt it!! - this is really an antique piece of Staffordshire Green Transferware and needless to say, it is rare!! - and in such great condition - Doulton did not become Royal Doulton until after the Queen appointed them in late 1891 - this set is pricey, but to find a piece like this, in such good condition warrants the price
Listed with a starting price of $235.00 - no bids

Beautiful circa 1880's Doulton Burslem aesthetic Flow Blue sauce tureen with undertray - cobalt blue with lots of gold accents - the tureen measures 7.5" by 4.25" and sits 5" tall overall - the tray is 7.5" by 5.25" - this item displays very well - but there is a shallow half-inch long chip off a corner of the lid, plus a tight hairline in the lid, and one end of the tray has been broken into a few pieces and reglued - but otherwise, it is fine!!
Sold for $42.50
