Carlton Ware Yellow
Dish
Made in England
A note from Sharon
on Saturday 8th April 2006
"This dish
was given to me during my holiday in Adelaide in March
It was originally bought by (Lesley's husband) Jon's Mother at
a church Jumble Sale
I am not sure when, though!!!
The dish is in excellant condition
There are no marks, and the gilding is perfect
It is 22cm long, 14cm wide, and stands just over 3cm high
I like it!!!"

The Backstamp
and Markings
"From what
I can gather, this particular back-stamp
was used between 1925 and 1970"
"There is also
an impressed number on the bottom as shown in the photo
This would be the shape
number
and it was introduced into the Carlton Ware range between 1940
and 1945
I found a reference to this shape, but nothing on what the "/3"
actually means
The description of this shape is - 'a two handled dish made in
various patterns'
and two of these patterns are shown below"
