Excerpts from game reports
(1). Senators Surge To Game Five
Brett Roneberg added two hits with three
rbi's.
(2). Senators get what they want: Game 5
Two more runs came in the fourth inning
on Brett Roneberg's two-out double that Kevin Reese dropped on
the run in right-center.
The double came one pitch after Norwich third baseman Bryan Myrow
passed up an inning-ending double play for a forceout at home.
Roneberg and Pascucci added RBI singles in the sixth inning
off reliever Sam Marsonek, ending the scoring in a game that long
before lost its competitiveness.
(3). Game Story
Brett Roneberg went 2-for-4 with three RBI
and Jeremy Ware hit a two-run homer in the third inning for Harrisburg,
which downed Norwich, 11-2, yesterday.
(4). Game Five on Saturday
Brett Roneberg had two hits and three RBIs
as the Harrisburg Senators beat the Norwich Navigators 7-0 in
Game Four of the Eastern League Championship Series Friday.
The win evens the series at 2-2.
Roneberg hit a two-run double that scored
Quincy Foster and Albenis Machado in the fourth inning to give
Harrisburg a 5-0 lead.
He added an RBI single in the sixth inning.
(5). Fans rally 'round the Navs championship bid
They made it 5-0 in the fourth when Brett
Roneberg's flyball bounced out of the glove of Kevin Reese in
deep centerfield and Quincy Foster and Albeins Machado scored.
Roneberg and Pascucci added
RBI singles in the sixth.
(6). Senators push issue
In the fourth, the Senators had runners on the corners with one
out when Albenis Machado grounded to third baseman Myrow, who
looked to second to start what probably would have been an inning-ending
double play.
Myrow said he heard someone tell him to throw home instead, which
he did, to get Scott Sandusky for the second out.
Brett Roneberg then sent a towering fly
ball to deep right center field that Kevin Reese had in his glove
but could not hold on to.
Two runs scored and Harrisburg, which scored all of its runs with
two outs, had a 7-0 lead.
(7). Yes, there will be a Game 5
Senators rout Navigators for second straight night to set up
deciding contest
Jeremy Ware hit a two-out, two-run homer in the third to make
it 3-0 before the killer two runs in
the fourth.
Manning should have been out of a first-and-third, one-out situation
when he induced what looked like a double play ball to third baseman
Brian Myrow.
Rather than opting for the double play, Myrow threw home to force
runner Scott Sandusky, but gave Brett
Roneberg an opportunity.
Roneberg hit a deep fly to right center, which Kevin Reese chased
down - and dropped near the warning track, allowing two runs to
score.
