Excerpts from game reports
(1). Norwich 5, Harrisburg 4 -- 10 innings
Brett Roneberg gave the Senators a 3-1
lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth
before Norwich took the lead with a three-run rally in the sixth
inning off Vargas and relievers Anthony Ferrari and Saul Rivera.
The Senators tied the score in the seventh
on a double by Roneberg that scored Figueroa, who reached
safely on an error to start the inning before moving to second
on Albenis Machado's sacrifice bunt.

Brett Roneberg added three hits.

two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored
(4). Game One - ELCS
Brett Roneberg continued what Figueroa started
with a one-out single in the first.
He moved to second on Pascucci's walk and scored on Ware's double
to right for a 2-0 lead.
After waving through Claudio Vargas' pitches through three innings,
the Navigators scored off him in the fourth inning on Michael
Cervenak's two-out RBI double.
Roneberg negated that run in the fifth
as his two-out single to center off Borrell scored Quincy Foster.
(5). Gators capture Game 1 - Almonte's homer in 10th inning
wins it
Harrisburg made it 3-1 in the sixth on
Roneberg's two-out, RBI single, but Borrell got Jeremy
Ware to fly to center with the bases loaded to end the threat.
Harrisburg tied the game at four in the
bottom off the seventh against Marsonek, who allowed a Brett Roneberg
RBI double. It scored Luis Figueroa, who reached on
a Teuris Olivares error to begin the inning.
Kevin Lovingier retired Brett Roneberg
to end the ninth and was the winning pitcher.
(6). Norwich takes Game 1 - 2002 Eastern League Championship
Series
In the seventh with the Navigators holding a 4-3 lead, Figueroa
was safe when Olivares, trying to make a backhand play on a groundball,
dropped the ball for an error.
A sacrifice bunt by Machado moved Figueroa
into scoring position and Brett Roneberg hit the first pitch he
saw into the gap in right-center for an RBI double.
Roneberg went to third on a long fly out by Valentino Pascucci,
but Marsonek escaped further trouble by striking out Jeremy Ware.

Radio - emails sent to Sharon and Tanya as the game was played

Commentator just went through the scoring, and as well as the
home run, the Senators scored when Roneberg
singled and came home on Ware's hit.

The count I wrote in the last email was
true, but instead of striking out, Brett hit a drive up the middle!!!
RBI single, and moved the other runner
to third base!!!
Pascucci then walked to load the bases, but Ware flew out.
But the score is better!!!
3 - 1 to the Politicians!!!
(4). Bottom of the seventh
Lead off batter got on and the next hitter sacrificed him to second
Tying run in scoring position!!!
Brett in to bat - fourth at bat
Jumped on the first pitch and belted
an RBI double to the fence!!!
I could hear the crowd going mad!!!

Pascucci drove a deep fly, and Brett tagged at second the advanced
to third.
Go-ahead run at third with two down

Was great to hear the commentators call!!!
(5). Bottom of the ninth inning
Lost the radio again!!!
When I logged in again, there was a runner at first and Machado
was batting
He flew out - and that made it two down
Then they brought in a left hand pitcher to have a go at Brett!!!
