Email to Brett

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
TO DAVE HUPPERT
TO THE SENATORS
and TO YOU!!!
IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!!!

We were listening to the game, and sending emails to Tanya at the end of each half inning.
But had to send her a "special one" in the top seventh!!!
CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!!

Mum heard it!!!
Because the game started at 4.00pm over there, it was 6.00am Monday morning here.
We heard your single, and being stranded at third base with the bases loaded.
Mum was getting ready to head off to work, and it was just before eight o'clock
Akron were batting in the bottom of the sixth inning, and you were due up second in the seventh.
So she waited.
And she was glad she did!!!

We are guessing it went a long way???
Normally when the commentators are calling a homer, they describe the hit, the fielders running back, etc, etc.
But with your hit, all they said "that's the Senators fifth run" as soon as you hit it---like it was one of those long hits that are soaring through the air, and nobody runs and they just stand and watch it fly!!!

What a series!!!
Down two games - and won the next three!!!

Heaps of luck and success against the Navigators.
Not sure when you will get this because you said you were not taking your laptop to Akron.
But you know we are thinking of you.

I have checked the Navigators web site.
They have radio broadcasts, but only local radio - nothing on the internet.
Damn.
So we might have to log in to the Senators broadcast with the "awful" bloody sound.

See you,
and I guess it felt good to trot around the bases at Canal Park!!!

......and his reply

That was a pretty fun series to play in for sure.

And about bloody time I did a little something with that bat.

Just got home - it's 2.00am here
and after 5 hours on the bus drinking beer and generally all being loud I am off to bed.

We have an off-day tomorrow,
so I think I may be playing golf - who knows - but I will be sleeping alot.

Mum, glad you got to hear the homerun,
Glad you stuck around to listen, huh???

Well, I assume I will get another picture or something soon,
so I will write tomorrow sometime
See ya

......and a note from Sharon

Glad is a very good word!
I am glad for you that you hit a home run
and I am glad for me that I decided to stay home for one more at bat!

Sounds like great fun over there!!
Would love to be there to see you play in such a great atmosphere.

Good Luck in the next lot of games!
Love
Mum
