Excerpts from game reports
(1). Brett Roneberg and
Jeremy Ware had rbi hits to pace the
winning offense.
Roneberg also smacked his fourth home
run of the season.
(2). Julio Manon tossed six-plus scoreless innings and Brett Roneberg homered and drove in two runs
to help the Harrisburg Senators defeat the Akron Aeros, 5-0.
Manon (5-1) scattered four hits with 11 stirkeouts for the win,
which was the 12th shutout of the season for Harrisburg. Roneberg ripped a run-scoring single and scored
in the sixth frame and smacked a solo home run over the right-field
fence in the eighth to supply the Senators with a 3-0 lead.
(3). Brett Roneberg had a leadoff home run in the eighth and an RBI single in the sixth.
(4). The Senators touched Alex Herrera (0-2), the second of
four Akron pitchers, for two runs in the sixth on Brett
Roneberg's run-scoring single and an RBI double by
Jeremy Ware.
Roneberg's solo home run leading off
the eighth stretched the lead to 3-0.
Harrisburg pushed across its final two runs in the ninth inning
on Scott Hodges' two-out double to deep center.
One of those runners was Luis Figueroa, one of two Harrisburg
batters to finish with two hits.
Roneberg was the other.
(5). Brett Roneberg (2-for-5 with
two runs) singled in Figueroa for a 1-0 Harrisburg lead, and Roneberg
scored on Jeremy Ware's double.
