Excerpts from game reports
(1). When J.J. Davis led off the top
of the sixth with a double to left-center, it looked like the
Curve might break it open.
But after Davis advanced to third
on a sacrifice by Joe Caruso, Senators left fielder Brett Roneberg
turned Shaun Skrehot's line drive into a deep double play.
Roneberg gloved the line drive and fired home, where catcher Scott
Sandusky had the ball in plenty of time to tag Davis out and end
the inning.
(2). In
the sixth with the game tied, 2-2, Harrisburg left fielder Brett
Roneberg turned a pop fly off the bat of Shaun Skrehot into a
inning-ending double play.
J.J. Davis, who doubled and moved to third on a bunt earlier in
the frame, tried to come home on the play.
Roneberg made a running catch of Skrehot's shallow fly then fired
a strike to catcher Scott Sandusky to nail Davis by ten feet.
The Senators seemed to seize momentum
with the play and went on to score the go-ahead run in their half
of the inning.
(3). The Senators turned three double plays in the game, the left field-to-home plate DP, a strikeout-throwout DP, and a more conventional 6-4-3 to end the game.
Email to Brett
I have read these articles a dozen times,
and tried to imagine what it was like.
Must have been terrific, and I wish I was in the bleachers
to see it and stand up and applaud!!!
Bet it felt good!!!
(must be that throwing with me during the off-season!!!)
Bye, bye.
Email from Brett
Yeh, I thought you would like that one.
It felt pretty good to.
Just caught it and threw and got him out.
As you know, a rain-out tonight and two games tomorrow.
