This game was started yesterday as the second game of a doubleheader - in the Eastern League, doubleheader games are shortenned from nine to seven innings - however, at the end of the seventh, the score was tied up at one run all.
The eighth inning was played - score still one all!!!
Then the ninth - and tenth - and eleventh - and then the twelfth - and still no further runs had been scored by either team!!!
The time was now 1.05am Wednesday morning, and Eastern League rules state that a new innings cannot be started after 1.00am
So the game was resumed on Wednesday afternoon before the scheduled game
The teams played a scoreless thirteenth inning!!!
Finally, the Senators scored two runs in the top of the fourteenth and won the game by holding the Sea Wolves scoreless in the bottom of the innings!!!
Overall, the game was played for 4 hours 20 minutes
