The HIA North Queensland Apprentice of the Year
went to Townsville-based Dean Kenny, working for builder Lancini Homes
The judges commented that “his solid understanding of building and his direction
and passion for a future in the housing industry for his age was impressive”
Townsville’s John Munro Builder won HIA-CSR Townsville Central Queensland Home of the Year
along with North Queensland Display Home of the Year and North Queensland Bathroom of the Year
HIA attended the Premier’s Housing Summit held last month
and we are seeing many regional councils look at holding similar functions
As an industry we can build housing in any shape or size consumers want,
the biggest barrier we face is government regulation and red tape.
Meaningful change will require some bold decisions and the political will to cut through the bureaucracy
