Geoff to Michelle Two Red Flowers and a Beautiful, Beautiful Note ... YOU ?? Note from Michelle Hi Geoff, yes it was That is the first time I have visited and it was lovely, such a beautiful spot Feel free to throw the note out ... just didn't know how to best convey my thoughts Friends like Tanya don't come along very often and I feel privileged to have had her accept me as her friend ... she has so many !! I am not riding tomorrow (I don't even own a bike!) ... however I will be there to see everyone off from Aeroglen Then I am going to breakfast with two other girls from Maccas so that we can get together and remember I will be thinking of you and Sharon this weekend This is going to be a hard month Note from Geoff Michelle, I go down there almost every day and just sit for a few minutes ... miss her, I do I read the note and just sat there and cried ... it was so heartfelt and so nice I don't ever want to lose the note, so came home and got my camera and went back and took shots of it and the flowers Sharon has just rang to say she's heading home and I told her to go via The Plaque (but didn't tell her why) She will feel the same as I do and will write to you later tonight Like us, you'll probably be sad this weekend but, at breakfast, you and the others try to think of some "funny or dumb" things Tanya Mary may have done so you can have a laugh as well !! We'll never forget this wonderful thing you did for Our Kid Note from Sharon Hi Michelle, and when I arrived at Tanya's Plaque as per Geoff's instructions the first thing I saw were two red gerberas ... Tanya's favourite flowers ... but you probably knew that !! Such a beautiful note too ... the tears are never far away and I shed some more down there today Glad you like Tanya's Spot at Trinity Beach ... she loved that place and those stairs Even if I just call in for a minute, I can't leave until I have run up and down them one more time !! Tanya did have many friends and all the notes and messages and contact from them have helped us more than you will ever know We are proud that she is well loved Please come and say hi if you can in the morning ... I will have a 'Ride for Tanya' singlet on Enjoy breakfast with the girls Note from Michelle Hi Sharon, and I honestly had all intentions of having a go at the stairs when I was there but I had Abby waiting for me in the car as she wasn't well and wasn't at school and I have no idea how long it was going to take me and you know what they say about leaving kids unattended in cars !! I will definitely try to come and say hi and perhaps steal a hug tomorrow morning Hope you and Geoff sleep well tonight ... big day for Tanya tomorrow !! |

But she told me I had to add your photo to the page so I did as I was told !! And THIS page includes details on Her Plaque Regards, and thanks for thinking of Our Kid Geoff and Sharon Sunday 8th June 2014 Geoff and Sharon Wow, that website of yours is amazing It's quite overwhelmed me !! That Girl of yours was definitely "one in a million" !! Note from Geoff Thank You ... there are over 110,000 photos and files across the site The section on Tanya Mary is so important now We are and always will be so sad but, as her Mumma wrote recently, we and her friends can go "visit with her" at any time by simply clicking on a computer mouse button !! Regards and have a nice Queen's Birthday holiday |
Dear Geoff It's Ella Fraser here, an old friend of Tanya's I had your email address from when I contacted you last year, after Tanya passed away I've been thinking of her a lot since the Anniversary being up here I hope you don't mind me emailing you I'm on my way back from Port Douglas tomorrow and am stopping at Trinity Beach to visit "Tanya's Spot" Is it on The Esplanade and easy to locate or can you give me a more specific landmark or address ?? I'll only have an hour or so to spare before I head to the airport from there Thinking of you and your family Kind regards Note from Geoff Hi Ella, and it so nice of you to write Tanya's "Spot and Plaque" are really easy to find After turning off the Highway onto Trinity Beach Road, follow it all the way to The Esplanade Turn left ... not far up the road you'll see a toilet block Next to them are the "infamous stairs" that Tanya ran up and down !! Her Spot ( two large rocks ) are next to these stairs What time do you think ?? Give us a ring on 4057 6043 ... Sharon would love to meet you there and say hello if you'd like That's up to you though Thanks again for the contact Note from Ella Dear Sharon and Geoff Thank you both again for today It was lovely to meet you both and visit Tanya's Plaque in your company It's such a beautiful spot to honour her memory and so fitting that it's by The Stairs I'd heard so much about It was also lovely to hear some of your stories and share some of my memories with you You'll both always be in my thoughts I wish you and your family peace, as much as is possible |
Tuesday 3rd June 2014 ... Note from Ella Dear Geoff and Sharon Thank you so much for sending the links to some of Tanya's London stories and photos It really took me back to that time ... I can't believe it's been ten years Some of the photos were familiar and some I had never seen before Looking at them and reading Tanya's words made me teary and also made me smile, because I was blessed to know her even for that short time Thanks also for the photos of Sharon, Mum and I at Tanya's Beautiful Spot I hope that wherever she is now, that she knows how many people loved and respected her and how many lives she touched along the way |
