I hope you don’t mind
I got your email address from your webpage which I have been looking at a lot over the last few days
My name is Jacqui and I met Tanya in the Greek Islands when I was her tour guide
Firstly let me say that I am terribly sorry for the loss of your beloved daughter
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since Saturday
I know how close your family are and how much Tanya loved you
(and can tell just how much she was loved back)
I can’t begin to pretend how much you are all hurting right now
I myself have cried a lot of tears since I read the terrible news
Such a waste
I only stayed in touch with a handful of passengers that I met when I was overseas
However, Tanya and I became firm friends from the moment we met
She was one of a kind, your daughter
So full of life and willing to try new things and people were attracted to her like a magnet
She was an amazing person who just had a knack for people
We kept in touch well after the tour ended
We caught up in Melbourne and contacted eachother on Facebook
Her last message to me was telling me how happy she was for how my life had turned out and how happy I looked
She was always thinking of others and took the time to tell people that
One of the most amazing nights I will ever remember during my four years overseas was with Tanya
We were in a little town called Oia in Santorini
Tanya and I watched an amazing sunset, saw a couple get proposed to
and then came across a beautiful little cafe on the cliff top that was playing the most hauntingly beautiful song
We stopped at that cafe, got a drink and listened to the music and it was like the world stopped
It was just a perfect moment
That song, “True Love Waits” by Radiohead, is still one of my all time favourites
I listen to it regularly and whenever I hear it, I will be forever reminded of your precious daughter
That night she left me in the cafe while she went to find a postbox to send you a postcard
I met a lot of people during my time in Europe
I can hold my hand on my heart and say that Tanya’s love for her family was more evident than with anyone else I had ever met or met since
She talked about all of you so often with such fondness, that I actually felt like I knew you all
I have been looking into flights, but with a very active two year old that I cannot get care for so it’s simply impossible for me to fly up from Tasmania on Thursday
I’m sad about that as I would like to bid a proper farewell to your amazing girl
Please know that I will be thinking of you all and will raise a glass for her and listen to “our” song
I send you all the love I can muster
I hope the fact that your daughter had such a positive impact on so many people is some small comfort to you at this extremely difficult time
We were all so much richer for having met her

Okay, so I went to see this lady who is quite renowned in Hobart
I'm not sure why I went to see her because I haven't done something like that for years
I felt compelled to take a picture of Tanya with me and I'm not sure why
I sort of felt like she might be around after she first passed away when I was really upset
Weird I know, especially given I hadn't seen her in years
Anyway, this lady picked up that she had been in an accident and she said it was all very quick
She wanted to know was a bone coloured car involved
I wasn't sure
She told me that it happened so fast she didn't know what happened and she went straight to the light
She told me that she was the girl who did everything right all of her life and lived a good life and that it was a great tragedy
She told me that she can see a resting place or memorial or burial site that Tanya likes
which is in a hot place, near water, with a great view and that she is very happy with it
She asked me who Sue was?
I wasn't sure
She asked me what happened with the keys?
I wasn't sure what she meant but she said she kept being shown keys and wanted to know if you had not been able to find them or is there some missing?
She told me that Tanya is very happy and she is with "everyone" and it's a beautiful place and it's warm there
She asked me was there a young boy that Tanya was close to that is missing her as she can see a young boy crying
She told me that she keeps an eye on everyone and that she has a big smile on her face and was happy to be able to get a message across
She told me that Tanya was from a very close family who are naturally devastated
She told me there will be a prosecution
That's about it
I know that all of these things can be taken with a grain of salt, but it actually made me happy hearing all of that
I hope it does you too
I have it all written down so if I find another bit about Tanya I will let you know
Obviously these things could relate to anyone so take from it what you will
I did find the bit about the memorial site very interesting as I didn't tell this lady anything about Tanya at all

Sharon here, and I was kind of relieved when I read your email about the visit
If she had to go I wanted it to be quick and for her not to be frightened and alone
All I want to know is that she is safe and happy
Brett's fiancées son Tai is seven and he has been asking questions about her, like where she is ... it is hard for him to understand
They used to do fun things together
I also loved the part about the special place we made for Tanya at Trinity Beach ... she loved that place
Who are we to say there is nothing after this life
I have been sceptical about clairvoyants
but now I am so happy that one of them saw/heard what I needed to hear from my darling girl to give me some peace of mind
We are sad and we miss Tanya desperately
It's so hard to keep going without her ... she was such a massive part of our lives
Hearing from her friends is a good thing and I know they miss her and feel for us as well

It was hard to know what to do because I didn't want you to think i was a fruitcake
(I may have if I was in your situation)
The thing that swayed me about believing that this woman Sandra was possibly telling the truth was because she just knew a few too many things
about Tanya's passing and the circumstances around it without me telling her
Also my cousin passed away the same week as Tanya from a brain tumour
I didn't take a picture of him, or even mention him, but she said that she could see a man in the room
She described him to a tee, right down to his hairstyle and the fact that he had suffered bad headaches and even suggested his name was Michael
Which it was
She said he and Tanya were both standing together smiling and were so happy I was there
I just thought that her descriptions of things that she could not possibly have known were a little bit too much of a coincidence
I'm glad it gave you some peace
I am sure that she is watching over you all
And I was glad to hear she was smiling ... and to hear that she said heaven is warm

PS - whoever Sue is, and she said she was somewhere hot so she could be a local to Cairns, is going to have a big year and she will have lots of news
So watch this space if you know of one of Tanya's friend's called Sue ... she mentioned her quite a few times !!

Wow ... that made me cry
I'm so glad she went quickly
If she'd been hurt badly or went slowly it would just be too horrible to comprehend
When Kahlia told me before the funeral that she died at the scene and wouldn't have been in pain I felt so relieved
She was too wonderful to not die with some dignity and in peace
I haven't been able to get on my bike
Not because I'm scared that I'll be in danger ... it just makes me too sad
I see a psychic in the psychic expo (I know, daggy) but she has told me some really accurate things before and I can't wait till they're up again to ask about 'Our Girl'
Still can't even believe we're talking about her like this
