Water Connection to both Fields

Although bore water
was available, neither of these fields had a direct connection
to the 'town water' supply
This was needed
not only for the players and water bottles during the day, but
also to make it
"quick and easy" for the field maintenance between games
as getting the bore up and running is a two/three man job

The connection for this field was
made from the Clubhouse and the trench was dug and flexible water
pipe was laid ...

... and then buried
The new Outlet and Tap near the
First Base Dugout

There is a town water outlet not
far from the scorer's box on this field
and John Tolentini was given the job of digging the start of the
trench from this point ...
... and it was, quite simply, a
rotten stinking trench to dig, with masses of huge tree roots
to get through !!

The rest of the trench was dug and
the flexible pipe was organised and cut to length
In the next two shots, you can see
John still working with his friends, the tree roots !!

John got the job done ... and the
pipe is ready to be covered
By now is was late in the day and
'liquid refreshments' had been organised from the Canteen
