at the Entrance to the Complex

and yes, it has been a "very very dry" wet season

with no rain at all so far this year !!

The area to the right as you walk in ...

On the right of the photo can be seen grass cuttings / mulch
which is being placed around the trees ready to establish the gardens and these will be edged with sleepers

Pruning the Golden Cane Palms

There are a number of Golden Cane Palms around the entrance to the Complex which were planted 'many years ago'

They have all grown very well but each plant had sent up trunks which really did nothing for the overall appearance

By cutting these down, each palm was given a new appearance. looking like they were all planted just yesterday !!

[ and yes, a bit of rain has fallen since the above photos were taken ]

Here we see Leon starting to prune the palms in the row along the front fence

These two Golden Canes will also be tidied up, with the one on the right being removed altogether

The front is already looking much better ...

... and they are now finished ... as mentioned above, it looks like five plants straight from the Garden Nursery !!

Leon then cuts down the one being removed ...

... and cuts off the long trunks in the other one
