Trees and Gardens between the Diamonds

Tuesday 18th December 2012

These first four photos were taken on Tuesday 18th December 2012
and yes, it has been a "very very dry" wet season ... no rain at all so far this year !!

Ritchie Mounsey is renovating his backyard and donated a few secondhand sleepers
and these are being used to edge the new gardens around the trees

At present this new garden area is covered with grass cuttings ... no soil or plants have been added

.

Need dozens more sleepers !! ... only one area has been edged so far

Filling the Gardens

During the Working Bee a load of soil was delivered and spread in this new garden

and look, there has been some recent rain and the grass has returned to it's proper green colour !!

Still haven't been able to get any more sleepers so it is just the one area that has been established so far

Some of the trees in this area were either growing 'under' others or simply in the wrong place and in the way

were cut down and carted away

Filling the Gardens

Over the last few weeks, this garden bed was also established
and during the Working Bee today it was filled with soil 'donated' by the Soccer Club
