'BEFORE' Look |

Monday 12th December
2011
In the above photo, you can see
a 'trench' cut into the tiles and slab, going from the pillar
to the house wall
Sliding doors are being fitted across this section, and the trench
was necessary as the opening is not "square"
Brett did this work himself and
below are the concrete saws he used
There are no shots of him doing
the initial cuts ... here he is washing down the area
The trench is 50mm wide, and is
5mm deep near the pillar and 60mm deep near the house
A cut was made down the sides and
then one up the middle ... and here Brett is breaking off the
tiles ...
... and that job is now finished
The blade on the saw shown above
is too large to allow cuts near the ends so these were done with
an angle grinder
Time to get the jack-hammer going
!!
.
Brett continues with the jack-hammer
while Geoff is checking the depth
.
This saw was used again to straighten
/ square up the edges of the trench
!! FINISHED
!!

Saturday 17th
December 2011
The trench was given the "okay"
by NGGA and BondCrete was then poured into it to form the base

Tuesday 20th December

Unfortunately the BondCrete did
not harden and had to be scrapped out
and then a concrete slurry mixture was used in the trench and
this was sucessful
