Tuesday 1st November 2011

Laying a row of tiles (coping) around the Pool

Stinking hot thirty degree day ... and some shade is needed for the workers

plus this keeps the concrete and tiles cool
allowing the adhesive to dry and harden properly and not just 'skin' which affects the final adhesion

Boxes and boxes of tiles

The 'blue' is a primer which is applied to all surfaces being tiled

!! UNDERWAY !!

One tile followed by another and then another

The spaces are for tiles that need to be cut so the lines run from the edge of the pool across the patio

.

.

The skimmer box area still needs to be finished

The End of The Day

Wednesday 2nd November 2011

The "bull-nose" edge around the Pool

Brett wishing everything was done so he could have a swim !!

As mentioned above, the skimmer box area still needs to be tiled

Using tapes and chalk lines, this timber was fixed in place to support the edging until the adhesive dried

Small spacers were also used to hold the edging at the right height

.

Primer is again applied

Timber and priming is completed ... ready for the edging !!

A look from inside the pool and you can see the overhang of the tiles

The first couple of lengths are fixed in place

Cutting the 'five x inside' and 'one x outside' ninety degree corners

There are numerous ways to edge a pool and this one is perfect ... results in an "elegant" look

.

The tiles have now been cut and fixed around the skimmer box

The job is almost done

.

!! FINISHED !!

The timber will be left in place for a day or two

.

The timber supporting the edging has now been removed
